Dorinda Medley Reflects on RHONY Exit: ‘Cried My Eyes Out’

1 week ago 1

Not a day has passed where I don’t wish Dorinda Medley was back on the Real Housewives of New York. The “make it nice” queen was put on pause after six seasons. The network had become worried that her outbursts would lead to something a bit more serious with multiple cast members wanting her to address her drinking. Now, Dorinda is looking back on that sad time when she was told she wouldn’t return for another season of RHONY.

Dorinda Medley didn’t take the RHONY news well

While chatting with Us Weekly, Dorinda opened up about how hard it was for her when she was dropped from Real Housewives of New York. Dorinda – who will be starring in The Traitors Season 3 when it premieres next year is immensely grateful for all the viewers who still want to see her back on Bravo. She told the outlet that she “always finds it hysterical that the fans think we have something to do about it. ‘Call Andy! Andy’s the only one that can make that happen.’”

The Real Housewives of New York alum continued, “I was at a meet and greet last night, and someone asked, ‘Would you ever?’ Listen, I’m open to all opportunities. I loved my time on Bravo. I cried my eyes out when they let me go. I’m not gonna lie. I’m not one of these people that made a statement that said I decided to take some time off. I don’t wanna go.”

Dorinda returned to the network to star in Real Housewives’ Ultimate Girls Trip. But the mother of one, who once found it hard to watch herself, is also keeping a close eye on the new ladies since they have big shoes to fill. She told the outlet she does watch the new episodes, saying, “I feel both intrusive and protective.” For D, “It’s something I was on, so I deal with it very gingerly. And people love to do comparisons and make it negative. And I always just say, ‘Listen, it’s not like they chose one over the other. They decided to get rid of one and start this new.’ I say this with kindness, but the crown was heavy. The girls had a very strong legacy and people are very sentimental and committed to them.”
