Dr. Dre made a surprise appearance at the FireAid benefit concert alongside frequent collaborator Anderson .Paak and performed several classics.
As reported by The Los Angeles Times, the star-studded benefit featured a number of surprise guests, with Dr. Dre joining Paak onstage for his iconic track "Still D.R.E." He also provided a rendition of 2Pac's "California Love." When he addressed the crowd following the brief surprise set, Dre thanked everyone for coming and said it was "magical" to see so much support for those impacted by the devastating wildfires.
He also gave a shout-out to the firefighters who helped with the response. Snoop Dogg was notably absent despite collaborating with Dre on "Still D.R.E." and showing support to the victims of the wildfires.
The benefit concert at the Kia Forum on Thursday, Jan. 30 featured some of the biggest stars in music coming out to show support for California. Billie Eilish, Green Day, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Katy Perry, Olivia Rodrigo, lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were among the featured performers. The show was live-streamed on several platforms, including Netflix and Twitch.
Gaga closed out the show with a performance of several tracks from A Star Is Born and a new song. She said she "wanted to do something hopeful," but struggled to find the right song. Instead, she shared a new song with the crowd, which she said was "just for" them.
