After months of feuding, Drake and Future have squashed their beef, according to Hip Hop journalist Elliott Wilson.
The HipHopDX editor shared the reveal on his The Bigger Picture podcast, where he said Young Thug’s recent ask that the two — along with Metro Boomin — bury the hatchet was a significant factor in them deading the feud.
“@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin,” Thugger wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in October, prior to his release from jail Thursday (Oct 31).
Wilson shared of the reconciliation, “I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences,” adding of Young Thug’s post, “I think that helped the energy when Future reposted it.”
The reconciliation of the What A Time To Be Alive collaborators isn’t far-fetched, as Drake previously rapped on “Family Matters,” “Pluto sh*t make me sick to my stomach, we ain’t never really been through it/ Leland Wayne, he a f**kin’ lame, so I know he had to be an influence.” This indicates that there was never really an issue between Future and Drake, but that Future chose to stand by Metro in his bout with The 6 God out of loyalty. After all, if Metro don’t trust you…you know the rest.
Wilson also confirmed that Metro and Drake are still at odds, adding, “There’s no trust there still with Metro, but I do believe that Drake and Future are back on the same page. Obviously we know that Drake and Future have so much history. Drake was the one saying, ‘We never really went through it.’ [Future] got the lightest of all the taps in the one v. 20, so it makes sense in some capacity.”
