Drake’s Next Tour Begins Same Day Kendrick Lamar Headlines Super Bowl Halftime Show

Drake is planning to hit the road again in 2025, but the date his tour begins has many people laughing or thinking he was being petty. He will touch the stage on the same day that Kendrick Lamar headlines the Super Bowl LIX halftime show.

The 38-year-old rapper hosted a Kick stream with popular streamer xQc and shared a few announcements while they gambled and played music. The biggest announcement was his Anita Max Wynn tour which will be exclusive to Australia, marking the first time he returns to that continent in over eight years.

“February 9th for anybody that’s watching from Australia, I’m coming back to Australia for the first time in eight years,” he shared with the audience. “Coming back to Australia on tour. Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast… February 9 ’til like… March something.”

Drake’s tour beginning on February 9 could be viewed as a coincidence, but his behavior in other parts of the stream suggests that he intentionally chose the same date as Kendrick Lamar’s major milestone. At one point, xQc played “Bad Habit” by Steve Lacy. Drizzy called him a “fragile opp,” but acknowledged that the song was good. Why did he view Lacy as an opp? Well, likely because the one-time Grammy winner attended K. Dot’s The Pop Out concert this past June.

He had similar energy when The Weeknd’s “Starboy” came on, but took things a little further; he told xQc to turn the track off and highlighted the fact that he was a “real 6er,” referring to his claims that Abel Tesfaye wasn’t really from Toronto as he claims to be.

The 6 God also made a brief speech about those who tried to take him out this year, saying that his mind, body, and soul were intact and one cannot end him with “fairytales,” but rather facts. This was seemingly referring to the Compton rapper claiming he had a secret daughter and was a pedophile throughout their major feud earlier this year. The “Petty King” was live and direct this past weekend and it seems like he has no plans of letting his tensions with anyone go any time soon.
