Drake had some touching words for his city and his fellow Canadians before heading to Australia for The Anita Max Wynn Tour.
On Sunday (Jan. 26), Drake shared a message on his Instagram Story where he sent some love to his fellow Toronto natives to help them make it through the bitter winter months in the 6. Drake is en route to Australia and New Zealand to kick off his upcoming tour, but he has Toronto in mind.
"Love to all the 6'ers Winter months are the toughest," Drake wrote. "Shit can be depressing so take care of yourselves and try show love to each other. Be back in a flash $$$OON."
In another Instagram Story, the 6 God shared a photo of someone on a jet plane who designed their hair to celebrate the Anita Max Wynn Tour. Based on these two posts, Drake is most likely on his way to Australia as of press time.
The tour, which is the Canadian superstar's first visit to the region in eight years, kicks off with two nights at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on Feb. 9-10 and closes out with a pair of shows at Auckland's Spark Arena on Feb. 28 and March 1. The seven-date trek will also see Drake touching down in Sydney and Brisbane. His last time on the continent was for the Boy Meets World Tour in 2017.
Drake first announced the tour during a livestream with xQc, where he said, “February 9th for anybody that’s watching from Australia, I’m coming back to Australia for the first time in eight years. Coming back to Australia on tour. Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast… February 9 ’til like… March something.”
