Dua Lipa has announced the cancellation of her concert in Jakarta, Indonesia, scheduled for November 9, 2024, due to safety concerns related to the staging.
In a statement shared on Friday, the singer expressed her sadness over not being able to perform and explained that, despite being ready to take the stage, it was determined that it was unsafe to go ahead with the show due to issues with the setup.
"I am heartbroken to share that I won't be able to perform in Jakarta," she wrote, adding that it especially pains her not to be able to perform after such a long time since her last show in the city.
'Refunds will be made from your point of purchase. I love you all and truly can't wait to be back together in the same room with you singing and dancing our hearts out as soon as possible.'
Dua Lipa "Radical Optimism tour"
The tour started gaining attention after her successful set at the Glastonbury festival, and she quickly sold out two consecutive nights at London's Wembley Stadium, scheduled for June 2025.
The pop star showed great excitement about the upcoming dates and promised more concerts soon, encouraging her fans to sign up for presale tickets.
Lipa has reached a new milestone in her career, with growing demand for her concerts. The pop star took to Instagram to share her enthusiasm for the tour, inviting her fans to join the presale and stay tuned for more date announcements.
After her shows in Asia, the tour will continue in March 2025 in Melbourne, Australia, and will visit cities such as Sydney, Auckland, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, London, and Dublin, before heading to North America, where she will perform in Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and other cities, concluding in Seattle on October 16, 2025.
This announcement comes after a source told The Sun that her last tour, which was almost sold out in arenas, marks a huge step as she moves to stadiums with her third album, an impressive achievement for the singer.
The best moment of Dua Lipa's career
Earlier this year, Dua Lipa shared in an interview with Zane Lowe that she feels more confident and in a good place in her career after years of hard work and personal growth.
"Finally, I'm at a place in my career where I feel really confident. It took me so long to get to this place. 'It's just such a vulnerable thing to do, to write your thoughts down into melody, and then have it be consumed by other people."
