Eamonn Holmes opened up about his New Year's goals as he prepares for his first Christmas without estranged wife Ruth Langsford.
The former This Morning presenting couple stunned the showbiz world in May when they announced they were headed for divorce. Since the news, Eamonn has moved on with his new girlfriend, but will be spending his very first festive season without his Loose Women panellist ex, Ruth.
On Sunday evening, he took to X/ Twitter to share what he was up to and wrote to fans: "I’ve just been watching 'A #Donkey for Christmas' on @channel5_tv. I’m going to help even more #animal #charities in 2025 and beyond. Wickedness towards them is just so disgusting and heartbreaking."
An account called Dogs Trust VIP Team responded to his tweet and said: "Great news! Happy Christmas Eamonn," to which Eamonn replied: "Onwards and upwards . Returning that Love." One impressed follower commented: "You’re a great man @EamonnHolmes - Have a wonderful Christmas."
Last week, Eamonn publicly supported Ruth when she paid an emotional visit to her unwell mother, Joan, in hospital. Not long after Ruth, appears to have returned the favour after she responded to a post about Eamonn, 65, appearing on GB News. Eamonn's co-host, Isabel Webster shared a snap of herself and the dad-of-four on Instagram.
The caption read: "Final show from us for 2024. Thanks for your company this year. See you soon! Merry Christmas - I hope you all find some peace and joy." Isabel is being replaced on her Breakfast show with Eamonn, with fans finding out the news in a shock last-minute statement.
Ruth liked the post in a show of support for her ex-husband - days before they are due to spend Christmas without each other. It comes after Eamonn liked a post of Ruth's in which she revealed her beloved mum had suffered a fall and fractured her pelvis. Taking to Instagram, sharing a photo of herself holding her mum's hand, Ruth wrote: "No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas….she's had a fall and fractured her pelvis!"
After liking the post, Eamonn spoke of how much he missed his own mum, sharing: "When folk ask me 'What do u want for Christmas?' Three Christmases without u now Mum and you are still top of my wish list."
