Ellen DeGeneres debuted a fresh new look following her reported move to the UK over the U.S. election results.
DeGeneres, 66, was spotted showing off short brunette hair while at UK pub The Farmer's Dog in a video shared to Instagram on November 13. She was joined by her wife Portia de Rossi, as well as a host of other celebrities, including "Torn" singer Natalie Imbruglia, actress Lisa Hogan, singer-songwriter James Blunt, the Irish band The Corrs, and English TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson.
The bar shared a video of their celebrity guests — in which DeGeneres could be seen waving at the camera — with the caption, "@natalie_imbruglia @thetallirish @jamesblunt what a great night in the pub with @thecorrsofficial ..the way a good pub night should be ..acoustic set, a few drinks, great friends @jeremyclarkson1 thanks for organising it!"
The sighting comes amid reports that DeGeneres and de Rossi moved to England to escape the U.S. following Donald Trump's presidential election win. Though they reportedly purchased their home in the Cotswolds — which is in South West England, about 2 hours from London — prior to the election, it seemed to be a driving force in the move.
Sources told TMZ that the A-list couple were "very disillusioned" with Trump's victory, and it motivated the pair "to get the hell out" of the United States. The former talk show host had been vocal in her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, donating thousands of dollars to her campaign, and endorsing her on social media.
When President Biden stepped down from the race and Harris was initially tapped as his replacement, DeGeneres had posted on Instagram, "There's nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can't wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president."
The couple reportedly plan to list their house in Montecito, California. They previously sold another mansion that they had owned in that area for $96 million.
DeGeneres and de Rossi are not the only celebrities to speak up about moving abroad following Trump's win. Stars such as Barbra Streisand, Cher, Sharon Stone, and Whoopi Goldberg also discussed moving, though DeGeneres is one of the first to publicly follow through on the declaration.
