What Is Emily Henry’s Next Book About?

If you liked Book Lovers, then we have a feeling you’re going to love the plot for Great Big Beautiful Life.

According to the book’s description, the plot follows two writers attempting to win the right to write a biography of a once-famous heiress from a legendary and storied family.

“Alice Scott is an eternal optimist still dreaming of her big writing break,” the plot states. “Hayden Anderson is a Pulitzer-prize winning human thundercloud. And they’re both on balmy Little Crescent Island for the same reason: To write the biography of a woman no one has seen in years—or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives.”

When Does Emily Henry’s Next Book Come Out?

Great Big Beautiful Life will be released on April 22, 2025.

The 33-year-old writer is not only gearing up for the release of her upcoming novel, but also currently in the midst of adapting not one, not two, but five of her novels. Those books include Book Lovers, Beach Read, Happy Place, Funny Story and People We Meet on Vacation, which is the only adaptation currently filming, with Tom Blyth and Emily Bader set to star in the Netflix project.

“The thing that’s exciting to me about the [film] adaptations is that they’re collaborations,” the author said of the upcoming adaptations during an interview with Elle Magazine. “You get to work with a group of people, and they put their own voice and thumbprint on this thing, and it becomes something you could never make on your own. That is such a fun experience. But the other piece of that is, every decision is being made by a committee, especially within the big studio model. It’s very different from publishing, where it’s just me and my editor, so that when we’re making decisions, it’s one other person who I really understand and who really understands me and who knows what matters to me about my work.”
