Eminem's mum, Debbie Nelson, has tragically died at the age of 69 following a battle with advanced lung cancer. She passed away two nights ago in St Joseph, Missouri. The news of Debbie's diagnosis was made public back in September.
Despite financially supporting his mother, the 52-year-old rapper hasn't been in contact with her or other family members in Missouri for several years. Eminem's half-brother, Nathan "Nate" Kane Mathers, who shares the same mother as the rapper, has since reacted to the news of Debbie's death with a scathing post.
Nate, 38, shared his feelings on Instagram, posting: "Hatred and mixed emotions today."

Eminem has not yet commented publicly on the news of his mother's death. Nate has had a complicated relationship with Eminem over the years, though they have maintained a bond, reports the Mirror.
Eminem has referenced Nate in his music, particularly highlighting their shared struggles growing up, although Nate has remained out of the public eye compared to his famous brother. At the age of eight, Nate was placed into foster care, and Eminem later adopted him when Nate was 16.
Eminem has detailed much of his upbringing and his relationship with both his mother and Nate in his rap songs. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, is known for drawing inspiration from his tumultuous relationship with his mother, including his 2002 hit Cleanin' Out My Closet.
In 2005, Debbie sued Eminem for defamation and bagged $25,000 after he implied she was a drug user in his lyrics. She penned her side of the story in a memoir titled My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem in 2008.
Fast forward to 2018, Eminem dropped the track Headlights, where he delves into his rough childhood and reaches out for a truce with his mum, confessing their long-time separation and bringing up his brother Nate's stint in foster care. In the heartfelt tune, Eminem spits bars like: "I was the man of the house, the oldest, so my shoulders carried the weight of the load, then Nate got taken away by the state at eight years old. And that's when I realised you were sick and it wasn't fixable or changeable, and to this day we remain estranged, and I hate it though."
The song kicks off with: "Mum, I know I let you down," and wraps with: "Maybe we took this too far, I want a new life."
Debbie first became a mum to Eminem back in 1972 when she was just a teen herself.
Her passing comes hot on the heels of Eminem's reveal in the music video for Temporary that his daughter Hailie is expecting. The track is a poignant note to his daughter should anything happen to him, featuring a touching scene where Hailie gifts Eminem a Detroit Lions jersey emblazoned with "Grandpa 1" and shows off an ultrasound.

The tear-jerker video is packed with home footage of his cherished 28 year old daughter and even captures a tender moment from her wedding day.
In the final moments of the video, Eminem is spotted sitting on the porch steps when a radiant Hailie emerges holding a jersey. She takes a seat next to him as he reads it and examines the ultrasound.
The Just Lose It rapper, taken aback, holds up the ultrasound for the camera, his jaw dropping in surprise. Besides Hailie, Eminem has two other daughters, Alaina Scott and Stevie Laine Scott, both shared with his former wife Kim Scott.
