Tyler Christopher
That year, she also appeared in one episode of General Hospital. At the time, one of the show's stars was Tyler Christopher, who played Nikolas Cassadine.
The pair began dating that year after reportedly meeting at an industry event and tied the knot in a ceremony in June 2002, when Longoria was 27.
The couple appeared on the red carpet together a number of times over the next two years, including at the 2002 Daytime Emmy Awards.
In 2001, she won an ongoing role in another soap, The Young and the Restless.
She filmed more than 300 episodes before leaving the show in 2003 when she was cast in Desperate Housewives.
But as her star rose, her marriage ended, with the couple calling it quits in 2004.
Longoria appeared to take the blame for the demise of the marriage during a 2008 interview with Digital Spy.
"He was a lovely man, but I was very young," she said.
"I didn't know who I was, and I was still struggling as an actor. I was a terrible wife."
Christopher died in 2023. He was 50.
Hayden Christensen and JC Chasez
Following her separation from Christopher, Longoria began dating Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones star Hayden Christensen, who was six years her junior.
The relationship was reportedly brief, lasting just a month, and neither discussed it.
Next, Longoria embarked on another short-lived relationship, this time with JC Chasez of the band NSYNC.
The two were together about eight months, during which time they were pictured arriving together at the 2004 Primetime Emmy Awards.

They started dating, and became engaged two years later before marrying in a civil ceremony in his native Paris on July 6, 2007. A Catholic ceremony was held the next day.
But within months of the marriage, rumours began that Parker, who was seven years her junior, was cheating on Longoria.
The New York Post reported that French model Alexandra Paressant claimed in December 2007 that the two began an affair just two months after meeting at the couple's wedding.
Longoria stood by her husband, but in 2010, Longoria reportedly discovered hundreds of text messages on Parker's phone between him and Erin Barry, the estranged wife of his former teammate.
She filed for divorce in November 2010 and announced the news in a statement.
"It is with great sadness that after seven years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce," she said. "We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."
Her friend, Mario Lopez, said at the time, "She is devastated, she wants us all to know that. But she's strong."
Longoria asked in court to drop Parker from her name. Their divorce was finalised in January 2011.
Eduardo Cruz and Mark Sanchez

They dated for about a year before calling it quits.
After Cruz, Longoria dated NFL player Mark Sanchez, who is 11 years her junior, for several months in 2012.
José Bastón
Longoria and Bastón were reportedly first introduced by a mutual friend in 2013.
"I was getting out of a bad relationship, and he was getting out of a relationship," Longoria told People in 2017. "So we had a pleasant conversation but there was no real connection."
But when the same mutual friend re-introduced them six months later, sparks flew.
"It was like the cliché angels singing and there was a glow around him and it was immediate chemistry," Longoria said.
"He was the most handsome man I'd ever seen," the actress added. "He was so charismatic, charming, sweet and funny. I thought, 'Who is this guy?!'"
Described as a "wealthy, successful businessman from Mexico," Longoria once called Bastón "probably one of the first men I've dated that has been older and established and, basically, a grown-up."
By the end of that year, they were red-carpet official and Longoria announced on Instagram in December 2015 that the two became engaged during a trip to Dubai.
They married just five months later, on May 21, 2016, at Bastón's home in Mexico.
Among the guests was Longoria's friend and bridesmaid Victoria Beckham, who also designed the wedding dress.
The two welcomed their only child, son Santiago Enrique, on June 19, 2018, when Longoria was 43.
Longoria, 49, and Bastón, 56, divide their time between Mexico and Spain after Longoria said they had left the "dystopian" US.
