Eva Mendes Reflects On Cosmetic Procedures & What Makes Her Feel Beautiful At 50

As she marks a milestone birthday this year, Eva Mendes gets candid about beauty—including the cosmetic treatments she’s dabbled in and regretted.

In a new interview with The Times UK, the actress recalled turning 50 back in March and divulged whether or not she feels different.

“It was totally fine. It’s just that number sounds crazy,” she said. “I feel like a girl inside.”

However, she admitted to feeling a little more spacey as the years go by.

“I forget everything. I think that’s part of being 50,” she continued. “I think I’m [staring] down the barrel of hormonal changes.”

Though she admits to finding her jaw starting to look “funky” and ponders getting a laser treatment, getting older hasn’t warped her perspective on beauty.

“There’s so many things that can make me feel sexy and I’d say that I feel more sexy than not,” she told the outlet. “I guess because I’ve never considered myself beautiful, but I’ve always felt very sexy.”

Opening up about beauty standards, she also admitted to dabbling in various cosmetic procedures.

“I’m not afraid to try things that are safe because most of these little treatments, let’s say, are reversible,” she explained. “If you get Botox, it goes away if you don’t like it. There have been times where I’ve regretted something… and then you just wait it out.”

But it’s not all about her. Mendes, who has been with Ryan Gosling since 2011, offers some credit to her loved-up relationship for still making her feel good after many years and two children together.

“The way my man looks at me is just… at times I’m like, ‘Oh my god,’” she confessed. “That might not sit well with people, but so much of how I feel is a reflection of what he’s giving me.”

And if that’s the secret to looking as good as her, we’re not surprised.

Having met in 2011 while working on the film, the actors confirmed their real-life romance when they were spotted on a PDA-filled date at Disneyland just a few months later.

In 2012, they welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda, followed by Amada in 2016.

In a 2019 interview, Mendes revealed she had decided long ago that she didn’t want children, but everything changed when she met the right person.

“Ryan Gosling happened,” Mendes said of her change of mind. “I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have… not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him.”

Though they are notoriously private about their life together, both have given the odd nod to each other in public and have confirmed that they secretly got married. In 2015, Gosling, 43, gushed about Mendes, 50, in an interview with Hello! Magazine.

When asked what he looks for in his ideal woman, he responded, “Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.”

And just like, Gosling raises the bar.
