In the ravaged Pacific Palisades area, many celebrities' homes have devastatingly burned to the ground. Those affected include Sir Anthony Hopkins, Cobie Smulders, Mandy Moore, and Eugene Levy

At least five people have been killed, countless are hurt, and more than 2,000 structures razed to the ground in the devastating wildfires that have swept through Los Angeles.

The evacuation of around 150,000 residents is under way, with people forced to flee their homes, as devastation amplifies by the minute. At least six separate blazes are raging in and around Los Angeles—home to some of the biggest names in the world.

A wind-whipped inferno exploded in the scenic enclave of Pacific Palisades, making it one of the worst-hit areas, with the fire raging across 17,234 acres since 7 January. This is now the most destructive fire that LA has ever seen.

Some of the other major fires that are currently burning include the Hurst fire in the San Fernando Valley, the Eaton fire north of Pasadena, and the latest blaze that broke out in Hollywood Hills (home to the famous Hollywood sign). The miles-long famous LA strip, Sunset Boulevard, is also in ruins.

In the ravaged Pacific Palisades area, more than 80,000 people have been displaced—many of them celebrities—whose homes have devastatingly burned to the ground.

Sir Anthony Hopkins

Two-time Oscar winner Sir Anthony Hopkins' home wasn't able to make it out unscathed from the devastating wildfires that are ravaging LA. Anthony, reports Page Six.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time the 87-year-old's home has been faced with devastating flames, reports Metro. In November 2018, Hopkins' home escaped the Woolsey Fire by an inch (a fire that burned his neighbour's property down to the ground).

Going even further back—to the year 2000—the legend had lost his London home in a tragic fire as well, however he was fortunately safe in Angeles at the time.

In a joint statement with his wife, Janice Crystal, six-time Emmy winner William Edward Crystal revealed that the home they had shared for 46 years was entirely destroyed, with the exception of the tennis court, which was the last thing left standing.

The When Harry Met Sally told PEOPLE magazine: “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken, of course, but with the love of our children and friends, we will get through this.”

Adam Brody & Leighton Meester

Married for ten years, the home that Brody and Meester lived in along with their two children, has been burned to the ground, confirms Page Six in photos obtained by them. The couple lived in a $6.5 million five bedroom, six bathroom house with a gorgeous ocean view. The couple was just seen on the Golden Globes red carpet celebrating Brody's nomination, and less than 48 hours later, the devastating wildfires erupted and engulfed the Pacific Palisades area, including their home.

Paris Hilton

The famous socialite shared how heartbroken she was on social media as she watched her Malibu home burn down to the ground. In an emotional post, Hilton shared: "Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience. This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.

"While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires."

Anna Farris

People Magazine has confirmed that Anna Farris' home, where she lived with her family, has also been ravaged in the Pacific Palisades wildfires, with only destruction and debris left behind. “Anna and her family are safe and very grateful," a rep for Farris told the magazine.

Diane Warren

Legendary Oscar-winning songwriter Diane Warren also lost her home to the apocalyptic fire. Warren shared on Instagram that the house she's had for almost thirty years, was lost in the fire. She further shared: "There's a rainbow shining on it which I'm taking as a sign of hope for all creatures who have been affected by this tragedy."

Miles Teller & Keleigh Teller

Top Gun star Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Teller tragically lost their dream home which they had just bought for $7.5 million, as a result of the brutal wildfires that have consumed the Pacific Palisades area.

As reported by Page Six, you can see the Teller's property completely razed to the ground, with only the foundation materials remaining. Keleigh took to her Instagram stories and advised her neighbours to leave behind bowls of water for the animals that would be trying to escape.

Cameron Mathison

'General Hospital' star Cameron Mathison shared a heart-breaking video to Instagram of the remains of his LA home. He wrote: "We are safe But this is what’s left of our beautiful home. Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday."

Eugene Levy

Schitt's Creek star, Eugene Levy, 78, confirmed to the L.A Times that he lost his home to the wildfires. Levy shared that he'd found himself "stuck" by "black and intense" smoke over Temescal Canyon as he tried to leave his home.

"I couldn't see any flames but the smoke was very dark."

His son, Dan Levy, posted to his Instagram Stories and confirmed the tragedy, sharing: "Heartbroken for my family, my friends and the people of L.A. affected by these catastrophic fires."

Cary Elwes

The Princess bride actor, Cary Elwes, filmed his evacuation from Malibu as drove down the LA roads and posted it to social media.

He captured the blazing fires out of his car window and shared: “Sadly, we did lose our home but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire.

Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by this tragic event and we also wish to extend our gratitude to all the firefighters, first responders and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it.”

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag

'The Hills' celebrity couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s Los Angeles home also found itself in the unfortunate path of destruction caused by the LA wildfires .

"I'm watching our house burn down on the security cameras," Pratt shared, in a video posted to Snapchat on 7 January. He then shared jarring footage of their deck and children's room on fire. However, the star was able to find some hope in tragedy, as he saw his son's crib burn in the shape of a heart.

Cobie Smulders

'How I Met Your Mother' alum Cobie Smulders’ Pacific Palisades home could unfortunately not survive the notorious wildfires that have tragically swept through LA., confirms Page Six.

Smulders and her husband, Taran Killam, bought their $5.6 million residence back in 2017 and spent a year lovingly renovating it. In a 2018 Architectural Digest interview, Smulders had revealed that the biggest 'splurge' for the house were the solar panels they'd added in.

Jennifer Grey

Stella Gregg, Jennifer Grey 's daughter, took to her Instagram Stories to announce that the Dirty Dancing actress's home had been "burnt to the ground." Assuring followers that her her mom and her dog, Winnie, were safe, she encouraged everyone to "give your loved ones an extra squeeze today."

Melissa Rivers

Melissa Rivers confirmed to CNN that she had lost her home in the fires. Rivers said: "My heart is so broken, not just for myself. It's a town and it's wiped off the map. That is the end of everything that belonged to my family and the history of it."

She harrowingly revealed how she ran out with some items that belonged to her late parents, comedy legend Joan Rivers and producer Edgar Rosenberg.

"I grabbed my mom's Emmy, a photo of my dad and a drawing my mother had done of me and my son. I went for a drawing of hers, rather than a photo. I know I can find the photos, but a drawing I can't replace."

James Woods

'Once Upon A Time In America' actor, James Woods, broke down in tears on CNN after his Pacific Palisades home was lost to the devastating LA wildfire. Woods said on air: “One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone. There was so much chaos, it was like an inferno. Every house was on fire around us.”

Mandy Moore

Actor-singer Mandy Moore's home and neighbourhood has also suffered severely in the wildfires. The actress took to social media and shared that she was devastated by the destruction that has been caused. Moore said: "Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets).

Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too. Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild together."

As per her last social media update, it remains unclear whether Moore's home has been lost to the fire or not.

Actor John Goodman’s home in Los Angeles has also been razed to the ground, as confirmed by Page Six.

His entire property has been flattened, with not a single room or structure in the house left standing.Steve Guttenberg, famous for ‘Police Academy’, courageously stayed on during the evacuation to help firefighters move cars so that a path could be cleared for the incoming fire trucks.

Other stars who also have homes in Pacific Palisades are Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks, Ben Affleck, Steven Spielberg, Bradley Cooper, Reese Witherspoon, and Michael Keaton.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has also extended its deadline for Oscar nomination voting by two days in lieu of the catastrophic wildfires. The nomination announcement has been pushed to 19 January.

Several star-studded events have been cancelled, including film premieres for Better Man, Unstoppable and Wolfman, along with the live ceremony of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. The production of TV shows has been halted, including ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.

Backdrop for the 1976 horror-classic ‘Carrie’ (amongst several other films)—the iconic Palisades Charter High School, attended by the likes of JJ Abrams, Will.i.am and Forest Whitaker—has also been flattened.
