Exclusive: Deal or No Deal Island Season 2’s Seychelle Cordero on Her Elimination and Why She Loved Phillip Partnering With Parvati

1 day ago 1

If you are sleeping on Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, it’s time to wake up! The remaining guests on the Banker’s private tropical island are getting closer and closer to that final case. And that case is already worth more than $7 million. Host and Game Master Joe Manganiello not only explains the excursions to the players, but he acts as the intermediary for the Banker at The Temple.

During Temple, Courtney Kim (CK) played against the Banker. However, before she did, she took a moment to blow up Alexis Lete (Lete) and Phillip Solomon’s game. In the end, CK made a good deal, and went back on her promise to Phillip, Seychelle Cordero, and Lete to send Dickson Wong home.

Instead, she eliminated Seychelle, whose confessional interviews are legendary. And on her way out, Seychelle made sure that David Genat, Dickson, and Parvati Shallow, of the Family alliance, knew who engineered the ousting of their alliance member, Maria-Grace Cook (M.G.). Plus, Seychelle collected a compliment from Joe about her gameplay as she exited the show.

Seychelle joined Reality Tea writer Kim Stempel to discuss her elimination, the epic blindside she planned, and who she hopes wins the game.

Why the Family didn’t suspect Seychelle of planning M.G’s blindside on Deal or No Deal Island Season 2

Kim Stempel: Were you surprised that the Family didn’t figure out that you were behind M.G.’s blindside?

Seychelle Cordero: No. I’m not surprised, because I think that I did a pretty good job at concealing what I was doing social-wise. I’m not surprised. And I really absolutely loved it. When David said at Temple last week, there’s no way that was Lete or Phillip’s plan, it was all [Dr.] Will [Kirby]. I was just like, that’s exactly how I would have loved it.

Kim Stempel: It was perfect because you were planning everything, but so under the radar that no one suspected anything.

Seychelle Cordero: Yeah, it was good.

Kim Stempel: What was your strategy going into the game?

Seychelle Cordero: I’m gonna be honest. I really felt like my strong suit is really, you know, my social game and getting to know everybody. I knew I wasn’t really gonna be a huge physical threat when I got there on the island. So, really just getting to know everybody and getting to feel everybody out. Seeing if I can kind of, you know, put something together. But have a couple shields along the way to kind of take the L if I needed them to.

Kim Stempel: What did it feel like having Joe compliment your gameplay?

Seychelle Cordero: Oh, it was good. It was good. It means a lot to me. Joe was a really phenomenal host. He’s very, very professional, you know? He hadn’t said that really to anybody else in the game, so I really, really do love that he said that. It meant a lot.

Kim Stempel: Who did you feel was the biggest threat in the game, and why?

Seychelle Cordero: David. David was the biggest threat to me in the game because he was the largest man there. I’m like, I do not want to go up against him in any f*cking challenge whatsoever. And the [closer] that we get to the end, the closer it’s going to be to possibly him winning sh*t against me.

He had a lot of sympathy, you know, with other people on the island. You know, he had the Family, but he was very, very well-liked. There were a lot of people on the island that they were just like, I’m not a part of the Family, but I don’t wanna go against David. Like, I don’t wanna piss him off, or I don’t want to blindside him. That was very frustrating for me.

Kim Stempel: Did you feel like Parvati was a big threat?

Seychelle Cordero: Yeah, of course! I think that Parvati was a big threat. I would say that around this time in the game, people started getting hip to her, especially Phillip.

And I love that, you know, a lot of people were asking me, Do you really think Phillip is riding for us because he’s obviously with Parvati? And I’m like, No. It’s absolutely wonderful for Phillip, you know, to have eyes and ears on Pavarti. So, he can let me know, you know what I’m saying? So, then we could decide from there how we move forward. But, yes, I did think she was a threat, but people were really getting hip to her.

Kim Stempel: Are you still in touch with any of your fellow players?

Seychelle Cordero: Yeah. Of course. I talk to Lete a lot, [and] Phillip. I talk to Dr. Will a lot, [and] La Shell [Wooten].

Kim Stempel: What did you think of Dr. Will, from when he first arrived in the game and then when he left? Did your feelings about him change?

Seychelle Cordero: I’ve always loved Will’s antics. I love a very ridiculous, over-the-top player. I think it’s f*cking hilarious. And you know, we’ve had some conversations when the cameras are off and everything. I always thought he was cool.

But then we got off the island, like I really did get to know him on a more personal level. I think he’s great. I don’t have anything negative to say about Dr. Will.

Kim Stempel: It’s kind of sad this is his last reality show. But then I’m like, maybe he’ll make a comeback someday? I don’t know.

Seychelle Cordero: I hope he does.

Kim Stempel: I know. What was your favorite challenge?

Seychelle Cordero: My favorite challenge was probably the axe-throwing because I did so well.

Kim Stempel: That was amazing!

Seychelle Cordero: Yeah. I was shocked too, girl. I was really on some like, I don’t know how I’m gonna to do this … whatever. And it really hit. I was just like, I really needed to secure my safety and I really did it effortlessly.

And I knew … I knew I was everyone’s bottom. I knew that everybody put me on the bottom. So, that was my favorite because I did so well.

Kim Stempel: Who do you hope wins?

Seychelle Cordero: My alliance.

Kim Stempel: Yeah.

Seychelle Cordero: Yeah. Definitely, I would love to see them win.

Would Seychelle appear on another reality show?

Kim Stempel: If you had to pick one person, who were you closest to in the game?

Seychelle Cordero: That I was closest to in the game while I was playing?

Kim Stempel: Yes.

Seychelle Cordero: Lete. I was closest to Lete. Yeah. We would confide in each other a lot. You know, we slept right next to each other, so we had a lot of time for conversations. So, yeah, definitely Lete.

Kim Stempel: When the cameras weren’t rolling, did people spend a lot of time talking strategy?

Seychelle Cordero: No, because really when the cameras are off, they don’t want us to talk to each other because they want to get everything on camera. You know, it’s hard of course for all the cameras to be where they need to be or where they should be. There’s definitely been things that have been said off-camera that are just like, For the love of God. I would say a lot of things did happen off-camera, but I would say that y’all pretty much got the gist of it.

Kim Stempel: Was it strange getting used to the cameras being everywhere?

Seychelle Cordero: No, I love that sh*t. I’m a ham.

Kim Stempel: Would you consider going on another reality show?

Seychelle Cordero: Of course. Yeah. I think it’s really a lot of fun and I really, really want to entertain people. So, yeah, I would.

Kim Stempel: You did a great job!

Seychelle Cordero: Thank you. Thank you so much.

What surprised Seychelle the most while filming Deal or No Deal Island Season 2?

Kim Stempel: What did you find most surprising about the show?

Seychelle Cordero: How long everything takes to film. If you would have said on paper … we’d be standing here for five hours. I’d be like, There’s no way in HELL that we would have to stand here for five hours. That needs to be cut to at least two hours. I could understand a cute two hours. But no. It really takes such a long time to film and you’re constantly on go.

There are so many times, especially when I’m on the bottom, that we get back from an excursion and they’re like, Alright. You have an hour to eat, do your make-up, strategize, and take a shower.

And I’m just like, Well I’m not going to do my f*cking makeup, because my makeup takes me an hour. I’m on the bottom, so I gotta strategize and I gotta take a shower because I’m f*cking filthy. All of that stuff.

Kim Stempel: Oh, wow. Obviously, when you’re watching the show, you don’t think of how long it must take …

Seychelle Cordero: Oh, absolutely not. I thought, I was like, Oh my God. I can do like a smokey eye on Monday and I can do like blue eyeshadow with sparkles. There was no time for it.
