Formula 1 has issued a stern warning of fraud to its fans, cautioning them against purchasing tickets for the upcoming 2025 season launch event through unofficial resale platforms.

Set to take place at the O2 Arena in London on February 18, this event is set to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula 1. The fraudulent ticket listings on resale websites have emerged as a concern, which prompted this unusual statement from the organization.

A statement from Formula 1 highlighted the concerns.

"We are aware that a few tickets for our season launch event at The O2 have been listed on unofficial resale websites," an F1 statement read.

"We can confirm that this is against the terms and conditions of sale and that any tickets bought through an unofficial resale platform are not valid for entry.

"Working with The O2 we have also identified that a number of the listings are fraudulent. We advise all our fans to only buy tickets through theo2.co.uk or via AXS Official Resale."

The F1 75 Live event will bring together all 10 F1 teams, their drivers, and team principals in one venue to unveil the new season's liveries. This occasion offers fans a sneak peek into the much-anticipated 75th season. Tickets for this rare event, initially priced between £58 and £113, were in high demand and sold out within 45 minutes, fueling a rash of resale listings offering entry at extortionate prices.

Fans are particularly eager to see seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari colors for the first time, alongside promising newcomers such as Ollie Bearman with Haas, Andrea Kimi Antonelli on the Mercedes team, and Jack Doohan to Alpine.

Organized by Brian Burke of BrianBurkeCreative with Stufish Entertainment Architects, DX7 Design, and 1826, the event draws from a prestigious team known for their work on the Las Vegas Grand Prix's opening and closing ceremonies.

Burke commented on the upcoming project, stating:

"It's an incredible honour to continue to partner with Formula 1 creating new entertainment experiences, especially this brand-new launch event of the 2025 season celebrating the 75th anniversary of the sport.

"Through our collaboration with all 10 teams, fans can be assured we'll be delivering a truly exciting live experience combining the unveiling of the new liveries, interviews with the biggest names in F1, and cutting-edge entertainment. It will be a never-before-seen event not to be missed!"

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali also commented:

"For the first time we will bring together our fans, all 20 superstars of our sport and some very special guests to officially kick off our new season and mark our 75th year of racing.

"With 2025 set to be a classic season following all the drama so far for 2024, this is a fantastic opportunity for fans of all ages to experience up-close the incredible entertainment spectacle that is Formula 1."
