It seems Taylor Swift and Kanye West’s infamous feud has finally come full circle – with one person clearly coming out on top.
Taylor, 35 – who has for years drawn criticism for her uninspired ‘girl-next-door’ fashion – made a bold statement at the 2025 Grammys last night in a short red mini dress featuring a sexy thigh chain with a letter ‘T’ charm.
She had six nominations at the awards show: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for The Tortured Poets Department, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Music Video for Fortnight featuring Post Malone, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her Us. collaboration with Gracie Abrams.
In contrast, Kanye had two nominations and arrived at the Grammy’s with his wife Bianca Censori fully in the nude, sparking shock online.
Rumours soon flew that the couple had been removed from the event, with many delighting in Kanye’s rejection given his long history of controversial and offensive behaviour.
Page Six claimed they had been ushered out after ‘the crazy outfit moment they pulled on the carpet,’ but it was later revealed the pair had left the venue of their own volition after walking the carpet.
Even though neither artist took home a Grammy last night, as Taylor comes off a record-breaking stadium tour and continues to cement her status as the biggest musician in the world, Kanye is largely the subject of ridicule and even disgust – making it seem all too clear who has come out on top of their infamous feud.
In fact, while Taylor has rarely addressed the conflict, Kanye seems unable to stop talking about Taylor.
As of Saturday, February 1, Kanye is now following Taylor on Instagram. He shared a screenshot of his ‘Following’ list on his Instagram stories, noting that Swift is the only account on it.
The rapper seems to be signaling the end of the pair’s era of trading blows in the public eye, also tagging Taylor in a photo of the Grammy trophy on Instagram yesterday, writing: ‘Thank you to the Grammies [sic] for nominating “Carnival.”’
He also tagged Ty Dolla Sign, Playboi Carti, Rich the Kid, and the Recording Academy.
As most people know, their feud began in 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards when 19-year-old Taylor was awarded Best Female Video for You Belong With Me.
As Taylor began her list of thank yous for the award, Kanye leapt on stage and took the microphone to embark on a speech that would go on to live in infamy: ‘Yo, Taylor. I’m really happy for you. Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time,’ he said.
Over a decade of disses and controversy ensued. Still, as many fans noted last night as Taylor presented Beyonce with the award for Best Country Album, the conflict has truly come full circle – with Taylor Swift emerging as the victor.
Even though Kanye didn’t actually get kicked out of the awards show, many on X marveled at how Taylor seemed classy and untouchable during the event, while Kanye came off as cheap and attention-seeking.
X user @getawayonce posted a photo of the infamous moment Swift won the VMA in 2009 with a picture of her giving Beyonce the Grammy last night, writing: ‘Something rather biblical abt this happening again as Kanye made a fool of himself… they won in the end.’
@DZChoc posted: ‘Kanye getting kicked out and Taylor giving Beyonce a Grammy for best country album is NASTY work, and I love it!!!!!!’
@BIacklsKing wrote: ‘A true full circle moment with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.’
@abbysdaylight posted: ‘Kanye West once again using Taylor Swift to try and remain relevant! you have to laugh.’
@OnlyPhanatics agreed: ‘Taylor presenting best country album to Beyoncé…We’ve come full circle.’
Many were shocked at the way Kanye seemed to be using his wife’s naked body as well as his conflict with Taylor to generate attention, with @WUTangKids writing: ‘Yo is Kanye’s wife ok….just seen her at the Grammys with him.’
@AlisonMoyet posted: ‘Well, yes, Kanye. Everyone’s talking about you again. How needy have you got to man? If you’re struggling to flog your records maybe try including a free fridge magnet or something. #GrammyAwards2025’

As most people agree that Kanye has finally admitted defeat to Taylor, here’s a full timeline of their historic feud.
A complete timeline of Taylor Swift and Kanye West’s feud
One of the most famous conflicts in showbiz history began with a bang in 2009 when Kanye grabbed the mic at the MTV Video Music Awards when Taylor was awarded Best Female Video for You Belong With Me.
Kanye leaped on stage as Taylor tried to accept the award and said: ‘Yo, Taylor. I’m really happy for you. Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time,’ he said.
Beyoncé looking mortified and clearly crestfallen Taylor, awkwardly exited the stage after a few short words. The internet went into a frenzy, but it seemed at the time like that may be the last of it, as Kanye apologised (sort of) the next day.
He wrote on his personal blog: ‘I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! …………………… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!…………….. BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!’
Taylor handled the moment without further comment until 2020 when she said in the documentary Miss Americana: ‘At the time, I didn’t know they were booing him doing that. I thought that they were booing me. For someone who’s built their whole belief system on getting people to clap for you, the whole crowd booing is a pretty formative experience.’
Things kicked off again in 2016 when Kanye released the music video for his song Famous, which includes lyrics that claim that Kanye and Taylor ‘might still have sex’ because he ‘made that b***h famous.’
The music video for the song controversially featured a naked wax figure of Taylor, with Taylor then claiming Kanye didn’t have permission to use her nude likeness.
Later, a 2015 phone call between Kanye and Taylor and revealed by Kim Kardashian in 2016 seemed to suggest that Taylor was aware of the song’s lyrics, though it was later revealed the call had been edited.
In a 2023 TIME interview, Taylor addressed the controversy, saying: ‘You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.’
Fans later speculated that the song thanK you aIMee on Taylor’s 2024 album The Tortured Poet’s Department was about the Kanye feud.
Now, hopefully, things remain peaceful between the two for good, so Kanye can stop embarrassing himself in front of the whole world – and inciting the wrath of the Swifties.
