Fat Joe Laments Chance the Rapper Winning a Grammy Over Him, Remy Ma

Fat Joe still hasn’t made peace with losing a Grammy to Chance the Rapper in 2017.

In a clip shared by XXL, the Bronx rapper looked back on Chance winning the Grammy for Best Rap Performance for the song “No Problem,” which was nominated alongside Joe’s Remy Ma-featuring “All the Way Up.”

“That’s the biggest disrespect,” Fat Joe says in the clip. “You know how Jay-Z used to say, ‘Gotta learn to live with regrets.’ I can’t live with that one.”

Joe made the comments during a listening session for his upcoming album, The World Changed On Me.

This isn’t the first time Joe has lamented the loss. In 2022, when speaking to Elliott Wilson for GQ, Joe said he thinks Chance is a “cool guy,” but that he “should have won the Grammy” for “All the Way Up” that year.

“‘All the Way Up’ was bigger. Not only that, if people understood the culture, Remy and I were like Robin Hood and Cinderella,” Joe explained at the time. “They gave it to Chance the Rapper—and for what? I’m not going to be disrespectful, but they gave it to him for a record I don’t even know no more. This is my point. I don’t even know what he beat us with. Do you understand?”

The World Changed On Me arrives on Dec. 13.
