Fearne Cotton isn’t letting anything stop her from having a good time. Not a health scare and not her marriage split.
After finding two tumours on her jaw and announcing her shock split from Jesse Wood, the Happy Place presenter, 43, appeared to be taking a break from the heavier things in life as she enjoyed a night out on Thursday.
Sharing snaps from the intimate occasion with her 3.9million Instagram followers, in which she partied with two pals, Elizabeth Day and Jamie Laing, Fearne was all smiles in an Instagram post captioned: ‘Quite literally…How To…have…Great Company.’
The caption is a witty combination of Eliza’s How To Fail podcast and Jamie’s Great Company podcast.
Eliza also shared the image on her own Instagram account, captioning the post: ‘Tried to think of a festive caption and all I came up with was “podcast ho-ho-hosts”,’ before adding that she ‘adores’ the ‘very bones’ of her pals.
Elsewhere, Jamie posted the picture of the trio on his Instagram story, telling his 1.3m followers: ‘Avengers assemble’.
Fearne’s night out came after the broadcaster announced she and Jesse, 48, who is the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, are ending their marriage after 10 years.
She confirmed the shocking news with a statement, writing to her followers: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.’
She added: ‘Our priority has been, and will always be, our children.
‘We ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.’
The former Top Of The Pops host and Jesse met while Fearne was on a girls’ holiday to Ibiza in 2011 and a friend introduced them while they were at a restaurant.
During their decade of marriage, the former couple welcomed two children. Their first child, a son named Rex, was born in February 2013, one year before their wedding, and in February 2015, Fearne announced that she was expecting a second child, which contributed to her reasons for leaving BBC Radio 1.
Jesse also shared two older children, Lola, 18, and Arthur, 21, from his marriage to his first wife, Tilly.
The announcement of their marriage breakdown came as a shock to fans as they had only recently celebrated their anniversary with a sweet post on their social media accounts.
Alongside the picture, which took inspiration from David and Victoria Beckham’s anniversary post, the pair wore their wedding outfits and held hands as they looked at each other sweetly. Fearne wrote: ‘If it’s good enough for the Beckhams. It’s our wedding anniversary too.
’10 years today. And we are back in our wedding outfits (not purple) and @jessejameswood can’t locate the shoes.’
It’s been a huge month of changes for Fearne after she revealed she has also undergone surgery for a benign jaw tumour.
Earlier this month, she initially said she would be ‘out of action for a bit’ due to surgery, explaining: ‘I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing.
‘Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland.
‘I’m feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.’
She later updated fans, saying: ‘Operation went really well. Recovering and resting. Thanks so much for all the kind messages.’
