This year, Fenwick's display reimagines the classic carol ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ with a new story by author and illustrator Chris Riddell.
Open to the public from 4 November throughout the festive period, the story narrates the touching tale of Foggy, a partridge on a mission to make its Christmas wish come true.
The production was crafted by Propability, a British family-owned design and production house.
Riddell said: “The journey through Fenwick's Christmas Window follows Foggy's quest to find Santa and make his pear tree grow. Beginning in the Broom Cupboard of Santa's workshop, where our hero tends to his struggling sapling, visitors follow Foggy's adventure through a series of enchanting scenes."
Fenwick’s chief marketing officer Mia Fenwick said: “We hope people get to see our Fenwick Christmas windows either in person or online and get swept up in the joy of storytelling with family and friends this festive season."
It has been a busy end of year for the independent department store chain. In October, Fenwick posted a pre-tax loss of £28.4m in the year to 26 January 2024, which it blamed on "the cost-of-living crisis and a changing retail environment".
The loss compared with a pre-tax profit of £57.1m in the prior year which benefited from the £430m sale of its New Bond Street store in December 2022.
While earlier in October, it was revealed that Fenwick's incoming chief executive Nigel Blow, appointed in July to replace John Edgar, would no longer be taking up the position.
