Sarah, Duchess of York, has opened up about her relationship with the royals - and revealed her desperate plea to Queen Camilla.

Fergie gave an interview, alongside older sister Jane, where she offered a glimpse into her relationships with the likes of King Charles, Camilla and of course her ex-husband Prince Andrew, as well as her battle with cancer. It comes as the disgraced Duke of York is under scrutiny over his relationship with a Chinese businessman, known as H6, who has been banned from the UK over spying concerns. Pressure is now growing on him to 'uninvite' himself from royal Christmas celebrations next week as the scandal grows.

In the chat with the Sunday Times, Fergie, who quit royal duties after her divorce from Andrew, talks about her bond with the Queen, claiming they are very close. And she says she wishes "they'd ask me to do more" when it comes to supporting Camilla in her work.

She told the publication: "Queen Camilla was close friends with Mum, which is why we’re so close now. But Diana was my best friend from the age of 14. That’s why it’s so big that the Queen and I get on now. It’s rather nice, and she reminds me of Mum. I admire the extraordinary support she’s giving this country. I want to do as much for the Queen as possible. I wish they’d ask me to do more."

Meanwhile, in the same interview, carried out before the Chinese revelations emerged, Fergie also vowed to always stand by Andrew, who she still lives with at Royal Lodge in Windsor. She said: "I won’t let him down. He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce." She added: "I was totally and utterly in love with Andrew. I would do it all over again, 100 per cent.

"He’s the best, a great man with a great heart, and kind. Our wedding was the best day of my life. But I gave up my anonymity that day. I was able to because love conquers all. It's still with us today."

Fergie's comments come as reports say Andrew has been told to "uninvite himself" from the Royal Family ’s pre-Christmas bash over his friendship with a Chinese spy. The Duke of York is due to attend the lunch at Buckingham Palace this Thursday but, following the Chinese spy row, sources say he should "do “the gentlemanly thing" and skip the function.

His attendance would lead to fresh embarrassment and one insider said: "He is under pressure to step away." The Prince is also being urged to avoid being seen in public when the royals walk to church at Sandringham on Christmas Day, following a difficult year for The Firm.

A source today told The Sun: "There would inevitably have to be some very awkward conversations and the King would not relish making his brother squirm. Andrew has managed the unthinkable and made a complete t*t of himself even before the Christmas party. It’s been a hell of a year for The Firm and the last thing they want is this scandal dragging on during a period of celebration. The thinking is he’s been foolish, but the more he keeps his head down the sooner everyone can move on."
