Tony Bellew has issued advice to Coleen Rooney ahead of her time in the I’m A Celeb jungle. At the start of this week Coleen was confirmed by ITV to be heading into the jungle after weeks of speculation.

The former professional boxer, who came second on the show last year, took the hearts of the nation after his blossoming bro-mance with winner Sam Thompson. Throughout the season, viewers were intrigued to see a different side to the usual ‘tough guy’.

In an interview with Best Offshore Sportsbooks, Tony offered his support to fellow Liverpudlian Coleen.

Although the boxer did not know at the time that Coleen was confirmed he stated: “I saw Coleen recently. If she’s to go in, she has obviously got my best wishes and I’m wishing her all the very best. We’ve just got to wait now and see where she’s at and how she does.”

He also recalled that the “hunger was tough” throughout his time in the jungle, only wishing Coleen the best in her jungle experience.

Tony urged fans to get behind Coleen, saying: "She’s a proper Scouser and everyone should be behind her from my city and not just from my city, from everywhere, because she’s one of the best people you could wish to know."

The sports star praised Coleen for being a "brilliant mother", confessing that their children know each other through football academies expressing: "She’s always there supporting the kids on the sidelines. She’s done a brilliant job, fantastic mother, a brilliant person. And she’s created a lovely family."

Ending the interview Tony stated: "I'm rooting for her 100%"
