Former soccer star Ali Krieger has taken to Instagram to call out a "wave of dishonesty and misinformation regarding [her] marriage and personal life".
The frank statement comes after her ex-wife Ashlyn Harris opened up about their relationship on a recent episode of the Naked Sports podcast where she revealed she once proposed an open marriage between the pair to salvage their marriage.
"I'm overwhelmed and grateful by the outpouring of love and support I've received this last year," Krieger wrote.

"While I'm not yet prepared to make a formal statement, I feel compelled to address this currently to prevent further distortion of the truth."
Krieger omitted any details about Harris' podcast conversation and expressed that her priority was in the wellbeing of her young family and their privacy.
Krieger shares two children – a daughter named Sloane and a son named Ocean – with Harris.
"Above all else, my unwavering priority remains the protection and well-being of my children," she continued.
"I promise to share more when my heart feels ready. In this vulnerable time, I humbly ask for privacy and understanding from all involved, as I grapple with the profound changes in my personal life."

"Love you punkin (sic). Even though you've said very little -- everyone knows the truth," Krieger's brother Kyle Krieger wrote.
"That is a testament to your character and very telling of others. No matter how many lies someone may tell or PR campaigns are planted -- we all know you love your children, and we all know you are an honest, loving, beautiful human.
"Be free and soar. The best is yet to come. We got you."

They went on to have a 13-year-long relationship which included two World Cup wins, their engagement and marriage in 2019, the adoption of their daughter Sloane in 2021 and son Ocean in 2022, Harris' retirement that same year and more.
Their split came after almost four years of marriage with Harris filing for divorce last September. Krieger received the news in the middle of a training session.
"I will never forget that moment. I found out at training. I was on the field. And I came off the field, in the locker room, and I was obviously devastated," Krieger explained in an interview with SELF Magazine
But Krieger did not navigate the aftermath of her breakup alone.
"My entire team came over for a dance party the night the news broke," the former athlete said, adding that they showered her with flowers and wine, staying until 2 am.

A month after they split, it was confirmed that Harris was dating her longtime friend, actress Sophia Bush.
A year later, Krieger has revealed that she is dating Scottish Soccer player Jen Beattie with a sweet post on her Instagram stories.
