Four Red Sox Prospects Land In Baseball America Top 100, Including 2 In Top 5

Red Sox fans have every right to dream big about the future.

Boston, which has arguably the best farm system in baseball, had four prospects land on Baseball America's latest Top 100 list -- including two in the top four. Outfielder Roman Anthony and second baseman Kristian Campbell earned the Nos. 2 and 4 spots, respectively, while shortstops Marcelo Mayer and Franklin Arias ranked 15th and 76th, respectively.

Anthony was No. 1 in Baseball America's last rankings but was usurped by Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki, who signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers last week.

Here's what Baseball America said about the Red Sox's top four prospects:

Anthony: "Anthony's breakout began in 2023 and continued through 2024, when he blitzed the upper levels and vaulted himself into the highest prospect tier. His contact, plate discipline and power should give him all the ingredients to become a regular in Boston's lineup by the end of the 2025 season."

Campbell: "Campbell started making noise in minor league spring training thanks to tweaks that vastly improved his offensive game. Those results carried through to the regular season, when he moved from High-A to Triple-A and became BA's Minor League Player of the Year."

Mayer: "Injuries limited Mayer's season to just 77 games at Double-A Portland, but when he was on the field he showed strong hit ability and on-base skills with hints of power mixed in along the way. He's likely to begin in Triple-A in 2025. If he can stick at shortstop, he'll help Roman Anthony and Kristian Campbell form a huge piece of Boston's coming core."

Arias: "Arias has filled out and gotten stronger as he's matured, which has helped him transform from a skinny athletic shortstop to a well-rounded hitter with potentially average power. He still has the skills to stick at shortstop long-term with good footwork and a solid internal clock."

It's also worth noting that Kyle Teel and Braden Montgomery, two of the prospects the Red Sox traded last month for Garrett Crochet, earned spots in the top 100.
