A Gavin and Stacey star has lifted the lid on what really went down behind-the-scenes of the BBC stag do.

Smithy was getting ready to wed his blonde bombshell wife Sonia and indulged in some prenuptial celebrations with his old mates. We spoke exclusively to Scott McGlynn who starred as one of his stags in the final episode.

When asked if he really got to party with the cast, he said: "I wish! They all seem like a great party, I would have loved to but unfortunately we were drinking 0% zero alcohol beer."

The final show was such a hit that fans are begging for more Gavin and Stacey action, and viewers are hoping for a spin-off. When asked if he had heard about any spin-off secrets, Scott said: "We never spoke about it on set but all I can say is that I’m excited for it.

"Everyone I worked with is very talented, plus James and Ruth’s writing is incredible. Why wouldn't they create something new? Let’s do it," adding: "I'll be there ready to go!"

A source also spoke about talks of the spin-off to The Sun: "James and Ruth are adamant this is the last of Gavin & Stacey. But, when a programme achieves such results, execs will always hope for more.

"At the end of the day, ratings talk and it would be madness to close the door on such a hit forever when fans loved it so much. Bosses have had casual discussions about whether options like a Pete and Dawn spin-off could work.

"They were always more separate to the main group and a new universe could be developed which didn’t involve any of the core cast, so James and Ruth’s involvement could be a little different.”

Fans will also be thrilled with the news that Ruth Jones and James Corden are writing a new book about the show's journey, titled When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between: A Story Of Love And Friendship.

They shared online: "We're so excited to be sharing the story behind the story of Gavin and Stacey. The show has played a huge part in our twenty-five-year friendship and we hope this book will give readers a fresh insight into how it all came about."
