A new film about George Michael is set to reveal the real reason that led to his premature death.
Andros Georgiou, a close family friend who worked with George in his early career, has made a film which will explain the late star’s unhappy end.
George died on Christmas Day in 2016 due to heart failure and a fatty liver aged 53.
Andros said: “It’s time the truth was told. Many fans will be shocked but something drives every superstar, it’s not always a positive reason.
"The true reason which drove George to become a superstar...escape. A secret we held all his life, one that haunted him and drove him to his premature death.”
He said George’s family have been aware of the reason for decades and that the estate has spurred him on to tell the story.

He continued: "I have to thank the estate for putting me on the right track...I was debating whether to include my full story but now I have no doubt.
"It's time the reason was laid bare...my film will shock many fans but not our respective families who have been aware of the truth for decades and ripped us all apart.
"They won't like me laying the truth bare but it's about time and the truth has to be told.
"I am ready for the backlash from this but for my own mental health and to find some peace I have to tell the real story."
The film is called Faith - also the name of George's iconic song. Andros and George grew up together from when they were eight months old.
He said: "The film had to be made right, as I was the only person who grew up with Yog from eight months old. We shared our lives together...other so called 'friends' and acquaintances have made movies. Mine will be made from the facts not hearsay.
"It will be the only factual film about George."

George is survived by his father Kyriacos 'Jack' Panayiotou and sister Yioda.
One fan said: "I always suspected something happened to George when he was younger. Also I know first hand how strict having a Greek father is and probably didn't help matters."
Another added: "The truth needs to be told even if it's hard to hear. Thank you Andros."
