Gethin has taken a break from television for nearly two weeks to immerse himself in rehearsals, as he takes on the role of Prince Charming. Meanwhile, his Morning Live family has held down the fort, with personalities like Gordon Smart and Michelle Ackerley taking turns to step in for him, reports Wales Online.

Gethin shines onstage alongside fellow stars Owain Wyn Evans, Mike Doyle, and Denquar Chupak in the festive production, which is scheduled to run up to 5 January. Throughout the holiday season, he will be juggling his time between Manchester and Cardiff.

The show's synopsis promises a magical experience: "Packed with all of the traditional pantomime ingredients New Theatre Cardiff audiences expect, Cinderella features laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses. Join Cinders as she goes from rags to riches, outwits her very wicked sisters and meets her Prince Charming."
