Congratulations are in order for Gisele Bundchen and Joaquim Valente, who just welcomed their first child together, per TMZ. (Or should we see parabéns, which is “congratulations” in Bündchen's native Brazilian Portuguese? Gisele, if you're reading this, parabéns!)
No details about the baby's name or sex have been revealed just yet, but both mom and baby are reportedly happy and healthy, and that's all that matters. The baby's exact birth date is also unknown at this point, but I'm going to hazard a guess that they're an Aquarius, a sun sign they share with Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, Harry Styles, and me. Great company.
We first learned of Bündchen's pregnancy back in October, when a source told People that “Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they’re looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family."
Bündchen shares two children—Benjamin, 15, and Vivian, 12—with her ex-husband Tom Brady. While they were together, Bündchen also helped raise Brady's son from a previous relationship, Jack, now 17, often referring to herself as Jack's “bonus parent.”
The supermodel, 44, and the jujitsu instructor, 37, have officially been a couple since 2023, however before they engaged in a romantic relationship, Bündchen was a student at the jujitsu studio Valente operates with his brothers.
“They started out as friends, but have been seriously dating for over a year,” a source told People following the pregnancy announcement. “She’s excited about the baby and feels good. She’s several months along and planning a home birth.”
Just last week, Gisele Bündchen shared an inspirational message with her followers on Instagram. Alongside a video montage, which featured pre-pregnancy clips of the supermodel walking along the beach, meditating, and hugging a tree, as well as one shot of herself in a bikini cradling her bump, she wrote, “Happiness is an inside job. Remember, you are the only one who has the power to create the life you want to live.”
