Actor Glen Powell sent a video message to the participants of his look-alike contest on Sunday in his hometown, Austin, Texas, to tell them that the winner “gets a personal prize from me.”
“You may know that my parents make a cameo in every movie I make, but today, the winner of the Glen Powell look-alike contest wins their parents or any family member of their choice a cameo in my next movie,” Powell said in the video. “I am completely serious. This is a cash value prize of $6 billion.”

“Enjoy my favorite city in the world,” he continued. “Keep Austin weird. Hook ’em horns and see you around every time I look in the mirror.”

According to People, Powell’s mother judged the contest and chose Maxwell Braunstein, a physician’s assistant from Austin who was dressed as Powell’s “Top Gun: Maverick” character, Lt. Jake “Hangman” Seresin. He won a $5 cash prize, free queso from Torchy’s Tacos for a year and a cowboy hat.
Powell’s parents, Glen Powell Sr. and Cyndy Powell, have been present throughout their son’s acting career and have made cameos in movies and TV shows like “Twisters,” “Anyone But You,” “Spy Kids 3,” “Everybody Wants Some!!” and “Jack & Bobby.”
Powell is currently filming “The Running Man,” a remake of the 1987 film. He will be portraying lead character Ben Richards, the same role Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the original movie.
Look-alike contests have popped up all over the world ever since YouTuber Anthony Po hosted one for Timothée Chalamet last month in New York City. Po told HuffPost that he’s happy the event is being copied. There have been look-alike contests for Jeremy Allen White, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and more.
