Gogglebox favourites Mary Killen and Giles Wood, known for their witty banter since joining the Channel 4 sensation in 2015, have captured the hearts of fans with their sharp wit. However, in an exclusive heart-to-heart with OK! in 2022, Mary confessed that Giles doesn't tickle her funny bone quite like he used to. Despite being together for over three decades and raising two daughters, Mary reminisced about the early days, revealing to OK!: "We used to share a sense of humour. When I first met him, he was so funny. I was crying with laughter all day even when he wasn't there."
She recounted a recent exchange with a taxi driver: "A taxi driver said to me the other day, 'Your husband makes us laugh,' I said, 'He used to make me laugh too! '" While she acknowledges Giles still has his moments, she noted, "He is still quite funny but when you get to a certain age... We do have a good relationship, but a lot of it is like we're like two old cats going at each other," reports OK!.

She also touched on the filming process, admitting how easy it is to forget the cameras are rolling: "Yes they're filming for 12 hours a week so of course we forget. The cameras are so small. The point is they want the cast to be as natural as possible. That's why they film for so long," she explained.

Channel 4)Mary candidly opened up about how Gogglebox was a saviour for her marriage in an interview with the Daily Star, sharing: "Giles and I were like ships that pass in the night. I got up early, he went to bed late and we rarely even ate together."
Reflecting on close shaves in relationships, she also confessed: "I know a few couples who have split up because they have decided they can't stand one another."
Revealing the joys of shared humour, Mary added: "Sitting down and watching television reminded us how much we enjoyed the same jokes."

The truth is we're both neurotic."
The Gogglebox stars met in their youth at age 21, with Mary having success as a model and Giles studying at Wimbledon Art College. Beyond their TV fame, Mary has flourished as a journalist contributing to The Spectator and authored the book 'How the Queen Can Make You Happy', published in 2012, while Giles maintains his renown as an artist and contributor to The Oldie.
