TV personality and former Big Brother contestant Narinder Kaur has come under fire for a controversial tweet targeting Kate Middleton.
The criticism came flooding in after her social media post about the Princess of Wales, who was seen at a Remembrance Sunday memorial service in London.
Despite battling cancer this year and undergoing treatment, Kate has been cautiously stepping back into public engagements.
Dressed in a military-style coat, she presented a solemn figure on the balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, accompanied by Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
Nonetheless, Kaur's tweet suggesting Kate looked "aged" and questioning if she smoked sparked a furious response.
"Genuine question – why has Kate aged so much? Isn't she only 42? Is she a smoker? It's the only explanation," wrote the 51-year-old Kaur, provoking a backlash with many branding her comment as "nasty" and "disgusting", especially given Kate's recent health challenges.
Narinder faced strong backlash after her initial post and swiftly followed up with: "Ok. Seems people took this the wrong way. It was a genuine ask. My brother had chemo. He didn't age. He died. Apologies if it was insensitive or just plain wrong. Hands up. I'm sorry," before claiming she deleted the offending tweet.
Amid the criticism, followers expressed their disappointment, with one saying: "You hit a new low Narinder - take yourself off here for a while and think about things before tweeting - life's tough and we don't all agree on everything but this was terrible," while another remarked: "We didn't take it the wrong way. You were nasty. And you should apologise."
Narinder later shared a video on X/Twitter addressing the online abuse she received, including "sexual racist and violent abuse", specifically mentioning a disturbing tweet hoping she would "get cancer".
She explained: "I thought I'd do a quick video instead of tweet after tweet, because it becomes pretty ridiculous – as if it wasn't ridiculous enough already. I put out a stupid tweet. That wasn't my intention, my intention was not to be malicious or nasty or anything."

Adding: "I'm not like that, anybody who knows me. It was stupid to ask about the ageing. I've admitted that, I've put my hands up and apologised if it caused offence."
In the video, she also accused Kate of having "a lot of privilege" and spoke against the racist abuse she faced for commenting on Kate's appearance during cancer treatment, reports the Mirror.
She later expressed her outrage at being targeted on social media, and retorted: "I put put a tweet about AGEING. AGEING! ! ! ! And all you disgusting racists came at me like I'd killed kids. You utter sick f**ks. AGEING? ? ! ? ! You don't care about Kate. You don't give one s**t. You just wanted to hang me."
