Will There Be a ‘Goosebumps’ Season 2?
Goosebumps was renewed for a season 2 in February 2024.
“Audiences everywhere fell in love with the series’ chills, thrills, heart and humor, making it one of Disney Branded Television’s most-watched shows of last year,” said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. “We can’t wait to dive deeper into the brilliant mind of R.L. Stine, and to collaborate once again with Sony Pictures Television, Scholastic Entertainment, and our fantastic creative team to bring an entirely new mystery to Disney+ for season two.”
What Is ‘Goosebumps’ Season 2 About?
The official description for the new season states, “Teenage siblings discover a threat stirring, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, the duo find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.”
Who Stars In ‘Goosebumps’ Season 2?
The first actor to be cast in season 2 is David Schwimmer, who is best known for playing Ross in Friends.
David’s character is named Anthony, and is described as “a former botany professor and divorced parent of teenage twins whose world takes a tumultuous turn as he juggles the responsibilities of overseeing an aging parent while having his kids for the summer.”
The cast also includes Ana Ortiz as Jen, Sam McCarthy as Devin, Jayden Bartels as Cece, Elijah M. Cooper as CJ, Galilea La Salvia as Frankie, Francesca Noel as Alex, among others.
Goosebumps is based off of the 1990s best-selling book series by R.L. Stine. All together, the series has over 200 books and was the best-selling series of all time for several years (pre-Harry Potter).
“We make nods to the 90s, when the books first came out. Those original fans who loved the books when they were kids still love them to this day,” producer Rob Letterman told The New York Post in October 2023. “And now, they’re in their 30s and 40s. We wanted the show to appeal to not only younger audiences, but also adults — with or without kids.”
