Chanel Maya Banks is reportedly "still missing" after her cousin, Danielle-Tori Singh, explained the woman who had been found in Texas was not the Gossip Girl actress.

The American actress, who portrayed Sawyer Bennett on the American drama, sparked concern when she vanished for two weeks, with some claiming her husband could be to blame for her disappearance.

Desperate for answers, as Chanel Maya Banks hadn't been seen or heard from since October 30, her family prompted a two-week-long search, which drew to a close when the Los Angeles Police Department claimed to have found her unharmed, "safe and sound" in Texas.

But as the case appears to have been closed, Chanel Maya Banks' cousin Danielle-Tori Singh has raised the alarm over on Facebook, issuing an urgent plea to the world: "Please don't stop looking for my cousin."

In a post shared on her Facebook account this Wednesday, November 13, Danielle-Tori reacted to the news the actress had been found, alleging that TMZ - who broke the earlier on - "is reporting fake news."

Later on, in a video, she explained that she had been made aware of the Texas encounter, stating that she'd "seen the bodycam footage, heard the audio, I can positively tell you 1,000% the person in the bodycam footage" was not Chanel. The person found in Texas had, as Danielle-Tori detailed, had Chanel's "ten-year-old expired New York city driver's license with her name and date of birth."

She then set the record straight, calling out TMZ: "I have had zero contact with TMZ, TMZ has not reached out to me, they have not asked me or my family any questions, they were reporting fake news that Chanel had been found." She then doubled down: "my cousin has not been found, she is still missing."

TMZ was the first to report that Chanel had been found unharmed after a frantic search and authorities claimed at the time that there was no suspicion of "foul play." The US outlet reported this Wednesday: "Chanel has now been found safe and sound. She doesn't have any injuries and foul play isn't suspected."

"Authorities reportedly conducted a welfare check at the L.A. apartment Chanel shares with her husband last week where they found all her belongings as well as her dog, but no sign of the actress. Chanel's cousin Danielle-Tori Singh and mother Judy Singh flew in from the East Coast to help search for their beloved family member after they say they didn't receive any communication from her for two weeks."

Danielle had previously spoken out about her cousin, saying: "“On November 10 my aunt and I were able to get into the apartment and all of her belongings are still there. The only items we did not locate are her phone and laptop."

"She also does not go anywhere without her little dog, which also has been left behind. She also does not have her vehicle because it’s parked in her garage. She would NEVER go anywhere without telling her mom or myself", she then insisted.

Chanel appeared in three episodes of Gossip Girl, with the episodes titled How To Succeed In Bassness, They Shoot Humphreys, Don’t They?, and The Departed.
