The disappearance of Gossip Girl star, Chanel Maya Banks, is shrouded in mystery.

The actress, 36, who appeared in episodes of the third season of the smash-hit HBO series as Sawyer Bennett - one of Jenny Humphrey's friends - hasn't been seen for two weeks after going missing in Los Angeles.

Chanel's family, including her mum, Judy Singh, and cousin, Danielle-Tori Singh, have flown to California to help look for the actress. However, they have accused Chanel's husband of refusing to help with police enquiries while Danielle has admitted she believes "deep down in her soul that something is not right." Family accuse husband of refusing to help and removing 'missing' posters

After not hearing from Chanel in days, her family began to worry, with the actress' cousin Danielle telling ABC7 News: "Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells. She doesn't go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom... That girl is more like a big sister to me. Something is not right."

Danielle has been putting up flyers in her cousin's neighbourhood, but claimed that Chanel's husband has been uncooperative with the family and police, and, astonishingly taken down 'missing' flyers. She said: "He's not willing to help LAPD. He's not wiling to help me or her mom find her. He is removing flyers off of posts and cars."

Chanel married her husband last year in November and uploaded a video of the nuptials on her main TikTok account at the time. She was last active on the social media app in September.

Chanel's dog still in her apartment

Danielle told KTLA 5 that the last text she got from Chanel before her phone went off the grid was on October 30. She flew from Toronto to help search for Chanel, with the actress' mother arriving from New York.

Upon discovering that Chanel's phone appeared to be dead, Danielle also revealed that the actress' dog and car were still at her apartment.

Los Angeles Police Department investigators confirmed to the outlet that they are working on the case, and have completed a total of four welfare checks this month - but each time, Chanel was never at the apartment.

In an emotional message, Danielle said to Chanel: "We love you so much. We just want to know you're okay and that you're safe and that nobody did anything to you."

Husband had 'busted lip' and 'scratches on his arms'

A GoFundMe page has been launched to help Chanel's family pay expenses for a private investigator and to help with their stay in Los Angeles.

Danielle revealed that both she and Judy were able to gain access to the actress' apartment on Sunday, November 10, writing: "All of her belongings are still there aside from her laptop and phone."

She also claims Chanel's husband had a "busted lip" continuing: "She would NEVER go anywhere without telling her mom or myself. We noticed on November 10 that her husband has a busted lip and marks and scratches on his neck and arms."

Danielle added: "Police were called on November 10 and they took pictures of his injuries, which he did not have two days ago when police did the last welfare check. We asked him where is Chanel, and all he continues to say is: 'she does not want to be found, she will reach out when she's ready."'
