Gregg Wallace's health social media page brushes off controversy with string of posts

Gregg Wallace's health page on Instagram has ignored the scandal by posting a string of posts.

Last week, it was reported that Gregg would be stepping away from MasterChef while allegations from 13 people that he made inappropriate sexual comments are investigated. The allegations are said to have been made by people working across a range of shows over a 17-year period. His lawyers have said it was 'entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature'.

Since the initial reports, further women - including his ghostwriter Shannon Kyle - have come forward to accuse him of making sexually inappropriate comments, groping, and sexual harassment. Responding to the claims from Kyle, lawyers representing Wallace said: "Our client has denied that he has engaged in any such behaviour, and he specifically denies any sexual misconduct with Ms Kyle.”

Wallace also initially hit out at the initial claims and claimed they came from a number of "middle-class women of a certain age". He later returned to Instagram to apologise for his comment and said he was taking time away from social media. "I want to apologise for any offence that I caused with my post yesterday, and any upset I may have caused to a lot of people. I wasn't in a good head space when I posted it," he said.

"I've been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion. I felt very alone, under siege when I posted it. It's obvious to me that I need to take some time out now while this investigation is underway. I hope you understand and I do hope that you will accept this apology."

However, over on his health page, Gregg Wallace Health, there have been a string of posts shared with the 204,000 followers. Most recently, a post showcasing "what I eat in a day as someone on the GreggWallace.Health plan" was posted. The pictures included a breakfast porridge, a soup lunch and a fish and chips dinner.

The page, which is his side hustle, has also re-shared followers' photos of their dinners as well as motivational health quotes. Following the initial allegations, Gregg said in his video: "I have been doing MasterChef for 20 years - amateur, celebrity and professional MasterChef - and I think in that time I have worked with over 4,000 contestants of all different ages, all different backgrounds [and] all walks of life.

"And apparently now I am reading in the paper there's been 13 complaints in that time. Now in the newspaper I can see the complaints coming from a handful of middle-class women of a certain age just from Celebrity Masterchef. This isn't right. [...] In over 20 years of television, can you imagine how many women, female contestants, on MasterChef have made sexual remarks or sexual innuendo. Can you imagine?"
