Apple Martin has been defended amid reports she showcased 'diva' behaviour at a recent society ball.
The 20-year-old daughter of Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin wowed for multiple reasons over the weekend when she headed to France for a glitzy celebration. Apple joined Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck at the Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris on Saturday where she turned heads in a custom-made ballgown designed by Alessandro Michele - the creative director of Valentino.
However, she also drew attention for alleged "diva" behaviour which saw her seemingly photobombing a fellow debutante attendee - and rolling her eyes at her date. While some have questioned if the youngster has showcased evidence of spoiled behaviour, others have championed her as the new 'sassy' star of the Hollywood set.
Now a friend of Gwyneth has stepped forward to defend the Hollywood star's daughter, insisting that she is nothing but cup cakes and rainbows. They slammed the suggestion that Apple is a "mean girl" and have credited her for encouraging other women and girls around her.

She would never mean to take the spotlight from anyone, that was not her intention. To characterise her as a mean girl is very untrue. She really had such a wonderful evening and I feel bad that this is even taking away from that because it was such an uplifting evening for her and the other girls."
Over the weekend, footage went viral as Apple was spotted seemingly rolling her eyes at Count Leo. But the blonde beauty has been defended by admirers, with one writing: "People are giving her a hard time and I think she’s really adorable." Another agreed, writing they loved her attitude, writing: "She’s sassy." While another described Apple and her mother Gwyneth as "Divas!"
At the beginning of the week, Vogue revealed that Apple had her dress designed by Italian fashion designer Alessandro Michele. The fashion bible reported: "Michele dreamt up a strapless bleu ciel evening dress fashioned in six dégradé tiers of silk plissé chiffon, cinched at the waist with a black silk bow, which his atelier brought to life over the course of 750 hours. Martin completed her look with a pair of strappy Valentino sandals in a matching shade of blue."
Proud mum Gwyneth shared snaps from the night - showing that she was there with ex-husband Chris as well as her Hollywood icon mother, Blythe Danner, 81. Sharing a treasure chest of images via her Instagram account following the high society event, the Oscar-winning Shakespeare In Love star wrote: "A special long weekend in Paris" along with a blue heart emoji.
