It’s Heidiween once again
Every year since 2000, Heidi Klum has hosted her famed Halloween party, showing up in some seriously out-of-this-world costumes others wouldn’t dare to wear — think a peacock, old lady and, of course, a worm look that became an instant classic.
And this time around is certainly no exception.
The model and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, both dressed up as versions of the alien E.T. from the beloved 1982 film “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.”
Klum’s E.T. sported a hat and blonde wig reminiscent of a memorable scene from the Steven Spielberg-directed blockbuster when Drew Barrymore’s character, Gertie, gives him a makeover.
Her latest look was created with the help of expert prosthetics designer Mike Marino, who has worked on projects including Max’s “The Penguin” and Sebastian Stan’s newest movie, “A Different Man.”
He also was responsible for Klum’s worm costume in 2022 and 2018’s Shrek and Fiona couples costume with Kaulitz.
Leading up to the big red carpet reveal, Klum shared photos from her lengthy getting-ready process, including one photo of her face covered in prosthetics and another holding a large toe.
Klum first shared a sneak peek of her outfit back in September.
“#HeidiHalloween is starting to take shape… 👻👻👻,” she captioned the video, showing a preview of her highly-anticipated costume.
The look in the clip appeared to be some sort of slimy reptile; however, she did not give any additional hints.
She also showed off the getting ready process on Amazon Live, declaring the look her “least comfortable” costume ever.
In an exclusive interview with People in Sept., the “America’s Got Talent” judge reveals that she’s been working on the costume for months, of course.
“Because molds need to be made,” she told the outlet. “Prosthetics need to be made, fittings have to be had.”
“So yeah, there goes a lot into it because I wanted to be so spectacular that this is not something I can just throw together overnight.”
Though she nails it every time, Klum told the publication she often feels pressure when it comes to unveiling her annual costume.
“It takes a long time. It takes a lot of planning,” the former “Project Runway” host explains.
“And also then when I do the reveal, I want to have a special reveal because I know I have so many fans and those particular Halloween fans are people who love also dressing up and coming up with amazing things.
“So I feel like they’re really looking at what I’m doing and I don’t want to let anyone down, so I’m always giving everything,” Klum adds.
The consensus? Her costume was well worth the wait.
