Hershesons Just Launched A Multi-Tasking Hair Tool Promising Salon-Worthy Style – But Does It Work?

To answer our own question, we put it to the test.

Beauty buffs may be familiar with Hershesons' Almost Everything Cream, £14 – loved by A-listers like Victoria Beckham – which promises to do everything, including smoothing, taming, conditioning, defining, and texturising. The only things it is not is a shampoo or hairspray. Now, the brand has invented the styling tool equivalent, aptly named The Multi-Tasker, £195, which (as the brand puts it) is 'not a hairdryer, nor an iron, but it’s pretty much everything else.'

The three-in-one styling tool promises to create a multitude of looks including loose tousled waves, bouncy blow outs and well-crafted curls, all while lending a salon-worthy finish that feels silky smooth. Created with the time poor in mind (guilty as charged), the styler has been well thought through. Instead of offering up a plethora of attachments aimed at helping you to achieve every look under the sun, The Multi-Tasker offers a succinct edit – a capsule hairstyle collection if you will – that can be mixed and matched to build various looks suited to the length of your hair (more on that later), without requiring you to spend ages in front of the mirror.

What is Hershesons' The Multi-Tasker?

First off, a notable feature of the tool is the attention to hair length. So much so that the brand has created not one but two versions of the tool – one for short hair and one for long – each equipped with three different interchangeable attachments that are perfectly placed to create desirable looks appropriate to the length of your hair.

The Short Hair Multi-Tasker features the electrical base alongside a 0mm brush head, 38mm brush head, and 25mm wand, while the Long Hair Multi-Tasker boasts a 45mm brush head, 33mm wand, and 32mm waver. But what really sets the styler apart from others on the market is its use of thermal heat technology rather than hot air, which takes a gentle and effective approach to fortifying the staying power of your style.

My honest thoughts on Hershesons' The Multi-Tasker

The first time I used this was when it landed on Grazia's beauty desk. I've always loved Hershesons' vibrant and immediately recognisable blue branding, which is enough to make me tear into the packaging. On first sight, The Multi-Tasker is slick, as is the signature Hershesons travel bag it's housed in, which makes the chore of lugging around heat tools just that bit more chic. Thats said, there wont be much lugging as the tools' interchangeable heads are limited to three, so you can really save on space and cut down on costs, too – this single product does the job of various heat tools in one and is also one of the most affordable premium multi-stylers I've come across.

As for styling, let's just say I plugged it in, sat at my office desk and managed to wave my whole head sans mirror in 10 minutes flat. I was just as impressed as my desk neighbours, who watched me whizz through each strand with minimal faff, leaving behind a bed of smooth, perfectly formed waves that lasted all day.

The brush head is especially good at creating that bouncy volume, too, though my least favourite attachment is the waver which is heavy and bulky, albeit a fool-proof way of creating those ever-trending mermaid waves TikTok can't get enough of. My most favourite feature? The silence. Many highly sought after styling tools on the market have the price and decibels to match, but the Multi-Tasker's use of noiseless, thermal heat technology is a welcome treat.

Hershesons The Multi-Tasker

This three-in-one styling tool helps to create a multitude of looks, think: loose tousled waves, bouncy blow outs, and well-crafted curls, all while lending a next level, salon-worthy finish that doesn't require hours spent in front of a mirror. Instead of using hot air, like other popular stylers on the market, it uses thermal heat which makes for impressive staying power. My long, unruly hair has never looked slicker.
