Oklahoma City's last two games have been routs, winning by 34 against the Sacramento Kings and 29 against the Milwaukee Bucks. They come in boasting the league's best defense in terms of points allowed per game (104.5) and defensive rating (104.7), and are led on the offensive side by MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is averaging a league-best 32.5 points per game on a fantastic shooting line of .533/.350/.899.
Phoenix comes into the matchup with more questions than answers, especially with the NBA Trade Deadline looming. Rumors have circulated that Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, and Jusuf Nurkic could all be on the move this week. As a team they have underperformed, in the middle of the pack in both points scored (113.1, 14th) and points allowed (113.9, 18th) per game.
Playoff Preview
With the Thunder comfortably in the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference (ahead of Memphis by 5.5 games) and the Suns tied for the No. 8 seed with the Sacramento Kings, there is a strong chance that if things hold, these two teams would matchup in the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
