Hulk Hogan Reveals He Doesn't Actually Have a WWE Legends Deal

Hulk Hogan, one of the most iconic wrestlers in the history of the squared circle, doesn't actually have a WWE Legends deal, according to a recent interview.

Hogan recently appeared on "The PBD Podcast" and discussed his decades-long career with host Patrick Bet-David. During the course of their conversation, which included a discussion of Hogan's close relationship with former United States President Donald Trump and controversial wrestling magnate Vince McMahon, the wrestler revealed that he is not signed to a WWE Legends deal despite his status as an actual living legend.

Instead, it seems that when Hogan signed a new five-year deal with the WWE last year, he was given something of a custom-made contract. The wrestler did not go into extensive detail about negotiations but said "Last year, year and a half ago, I signed a five-year deal with WWE, and it's not a legends deal, there's a lot more to it than that. But we've got a ton of projects, documentary stuff, movie stuff."

Hogan has been particularly active in WWE events in the last few years, but the 71-year-old wrestler has notably not been engaged in any full-time in-ring competition, focusing more on his role as a legendary ambassador for the brand. His special contract is probably what allows that to happen, although his status as the public face of the WWE and, before it, the WWF, for years probably helped quite a bit.

Hogan has had a long and storied relationship with WWE, spanning multiple decades. He first joined the company, then known as the WWF, in 1979. He became a household name in the 1980s, headlining numerous WrestleMania events and becoming a key figure in popularizing professional wrestling as well as the first wrestler to break into mainstream starring films.

Hogan had two primary runs with the WWF/WWE: the first from 1979 until 1993, and then he returned in 2002, staying until 2007. After another stint in TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling), he returned to WWE in 2014 for various appearances and special events. All told his time with WWE has totaled over 30 years, making him one of the most recognizable figures in the company's history. Presumably, that is what earned him his own special deal, rather than a Legends contract.
