Police in North Carolina have reported the death of a woman and her husband who is believed to have admitted to killing her after learning of her alleged infidelity.
The Fuquay-Varina Police Department shared news of the deaths of Cathleen Lesniak, 59, and George Lesniak, 63, in a post on Facebook on January 18, just a couple of hours after officers went to the couple's property on a report of someone being shot.
Officers arrived at the home at approximately 6:03pm and found Cathleen dead, having suffered 'fatal injuries'.
Her husband was also found dead, with police reporting that he had sustained a 'self-inflicted fatal injury'.
Police confirmed the death of George Lesniak in a statement on Facebook (Facebook)
The Fuquay-Varina Police Department assured there was no ongoing threat to the safety of the public, but announced that officers would remain on the scene for 'an extend period of time' as they investigated the circumstances surrounding the two deaths.
According to screenshots obtained by The NC Beat, police officers arrived at the Lesniak home just minutes after a post appeared on an 'ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) Support' group on Facebook which appeared to have been shared by George.
The poster claimed their wife had 'admitted to cheating', and alleged that the poster had 'killed' her as a result.
They then stated their plans to take their own life, adding: "Figure this group out for yourselves."
According to the New York Post, George was an administrator for the Facebook group, which was intended for technicians who performed ADAS calibrations on vehicles.
The post has since been deleted, The NC Beat reports.
Prior to her death, Cathleen had worked at Advanced Auto Parts as a Technical Production Manager.

The company shared a short statement regarding the loss of their former employee, saying: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at the Lesniak residence on January 18. We at Autel express our heartfelt condolences to the Lesniak family and friends."
The Fuquay-Varina Police Department described the incident involving the two family members as 'deeply tragic', adding: "We urge the community to keep the family in their thoughts during this challenging time."
