I Cannot Believe That Meghan McCain Just Admitted She Voted For Her Late Father John McCain In The 2024 Election

If you're anything like me, you're still grappling with the fact that Donald Trump will return to office as our 47th president.

Since winning the election, he's announced a slew of controversial Cabinet picks, each more outrageous than the last. After distancing himself from Project 2025 on the campaign trail, he has offered jobs to some of its contributors and borrowed initiatives from the conservative playbook like dismantling the Department of Education.

He also wants to use the military to deport millions of undocumented immigrants (who comprise 45% of agricultural workers, BTW, so good luck with those lower grocery prices). Overall, it's pretty bleak.

I've often thought back to the troubling stats we saw after the election. According to NBC's exit polls, Trump only saw a 3% decline in support from white women compared to the 2020 election. So much has happened in the last four years, including the overturn of Roe v. Wade and Trump being found liable for sexual abuse. I'm still struggling to understand how 52% of white women voted for him.

As to the white women who didn't support Trump but threw away their vote? All I can do is shake my head. And that's where Meghan McCain comes in.

Yes, you read that right. She voted for Senator John McCain, WHO DIED IN 2018.

"I wrote in my dad," she confessed. "Is that cliché? I'm so sorry, I know, I know. It's so... people are mad at me. People are so mad at me, Katie. I mean, mad that I didn't vote either way."

She continued, "And I was like, I have such Christian guilt at night, and I don't want anything on my conscience with any of it. I just can never vote for Trump. I can't do it. I could never explain it to my children."

When asked why she didn't vote for Kamala Harris since she clearly doesn't support Trump, Meghan had a typical bonkers response.

"I really wanted her to give me a reason to vote for her, and I just felt like it never happened, and there were some questions that she just couldn't answer. And look, I'm a pro-life, pretty hardcore conservative woman, and Governor [Tim] Walz was way too extreme for me. He actually, like, scared me a lot more than she did."

You're telling me Tim Walz scared you? The guy whose son cried because he was so proud of his dad? The guy who supports free meals for schoolchildren? Terrifying!

Unbelievably, Meghan then complimented Kamala for "getting in the cockpit of a crashing plane and leveling it out the way she did... I don't know how many other politicians could've done that. But, I don't think she's this cataclysmic disaster that she's being portrayed as. I actually think it's pretty unfair."

Mind you, Meghan herself was one of the people who portrayed Kamala as disastrous. On an episode of her Citizen McCain with Meghan McCain podcast earlier this year, she said, "[Kamala] sounds like stoner, like a 19-year-old stoner in college who's high at 3 a.m. She makes me so uncomfortable. I don't like watching her. I don't like listening to her." She then joked, "If anything, Vice President Harris has proven to me that maybe a woman can't be Vice President. I actually think she's setting feminism back 10 years."

Meghan McCain, you're part of the problem.
