Health and beauty retailer Boots is selling a cream bronzer shoppers are comparing to a high end version, but for much cheaper. Known for its quality beauty products, the retailer frequently turns heads - and this time is no different.
Instagram influencer Debbie, known as @beauty_glow_girl to her 190k followers, highlighted a No7 bronzer that is very similar to one by designer brand Chanel. The Boots No7 Pro Artist range is a 12-piece collection of "luxurious cosmetics products", comprising of "high quality, premium formulas", according to the brand.
With all products in the collection retailing at under £20, it has been designed to provide an affordable selection of products which "doesn’t compromise on luxury and quality", and includes the No7 Pro Artist Soft Glow Cream Bronzer.
In her video caption, Debbie wrote: "There’s a new affordable alternative product that’s going viral because it’s apparently very similar to the Chanel cream bronzer. The new No7 Pro Artist Soft Glow Cream Bronzer is £19.95 compared to the Chanel which is usually £48. I tried it out - let me know what you think…"
In the clip, Debbie shows herself purchasing the No7 product from Boots and then trying it at home, comparing it to Chanel's Les Beiges Bronzing Cream, which is priced at £48. She said: "There’s an affordable alternative for the Chanel cream bronzer now Boots and I wanted to try it out. This is the new Pro Artist Soft Glow Cream Bronzer from No7 and it’s £19.95, compared to Chanel which is normally £48.
"So let’s give it a go. This new collection feels very luxury, definitely good for Christmas gifting, but it does look very warm for my pale skin and I always found that with the Chanel it was way too warm. But actually, once blended I was surprised with this one, it goes on so nicely and blends out beautifully.
"I actually prefer this to the Chanel one. It gives a nice, natural finish and feels like nothing on the skin…I love this, I can see why it’s going viral."
The No7 product has an overall rating of 4.6 stars on the Boots website, having racked up many rave reviews. One shopper said: "Great packaging looks high end. Product applies and blends beautifully. I chose the lightest shade but may also buy the mid shade too. Creamy, lovely consistency and huge tub...makes my skin look tanned and illuminated, would thoroughly recommend!"
A second wrote: "Feels luxurious, is very easy to apply and you can layer up to get a heavier look if you wish or apply a thin layer for a subtle look. This bronzer gives an even glow and I’m very impressed with it. It certainly looks and feels like a more professional brand."
Another added: "Love this bronzer. It’s the first time I’ve used a cream one and love how it blends evenly and you barely need any product on your brush. I feel like the size of the pot is going to last for ages."
However, some shoppers were not quite so impressed. One person said: "It's a no from me. Awful! The colour is super intense (I was matched with the lightest shade) I’m a fair redhead instant regret as I tried to blend."
Another wrote: "I tried all the swatches in store, they seem to blend lovely and the texture is quite light. Unfortunately, all 3 shade options come up very orange and all very warm toned. If you’re someone who prefers a cooler toned cream blush, I’d try another brand."
The No7 Pro Artist Soft Glow Cream Bronzer is currently on sale for £11.97, down from £19.95 thanks to the Boots Black Friday sale. This means that for a limited time only, Boots shoppers could save around £36 by opting for the No7 product. When the bronzer is at it's usual full price, shoppers would save roughly £28 by snapping up the Boots item rather than the Chanel version.
Alternatively, Boots also stocks the Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer for £22.50, down from £30. Refy's cream bronzer is also on sale from £14.40, down from £18, while the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Bronzer is now £19.15, down from £32.
