Coleen Rooney has put the speculation to rest and announced she's ditching her glitzy life for a stint in the Australian bush on I'm A Celebrity. Before taking off Down Under, she also took the time to address myths of potential health problems that might impact her time on the show.
The 38-year-old WAG of ex-footballer Wayne Rooney had been rumoured to join the line-up for the 2024 series of the hit ITV show. While some stars like McFly's Danny Jones and songstress Tulisa Contostavlos have already touched down in Australia, Coleen decided to savour one last night with her loved ones before departure.
Yesterday (November 11), Coleen posted on Instagram from her abode, hinting she'd be organising her children for school before heading to the airport to embark on her Australian journey. "I can confirm, I am going in the jungle," she said, according to the Mirror.
"...I'm looking forward to doing the trials. There's been a lot of news saying that I can't do trials because of certain illnesses and that, but I can confirm I can do every trial. So I am not excluded from any that was just a load of rubbish, and I am, yeah, I'm looking forward to it."
Before jetting off to the jungle, where she'll rub shoulders with stars like GK Barry, Oti Mabuse, and Barry Guigan, Coleen disclosed that she had 'prepped' her children's schedules with the help of various friends and family members. She even left each of them a letter to read upon their return from school this Tuesday.
"Don't get me wrong. I am really anxious about leaving the kids. That's my biggest thing, and for weeks and months that's been on my mind, but I've come to terms with it. I've planned, I've prepped," she reportedly disclosed.
"I've got an army of people, family, friends, school friends all helping out with the kids, so they are going to be fine, and they are probably going to have a great time when I'm away." Displaying letters and toy kangaroos on the table, she added: "And then, these are to open when they come in from school a little teddy so that they know that I am constantly thinking of them."
Rumours surrounding Coleen's Bushtucker Trial participation arose following reports that she was suffering from reactive arthritis last week. That is a painful condition that triggers swelling in joints all over the body.
At the time, a source allegedly told The Sun that the show's medics will attempt to alleviate her condition if she experiences a flare-up in Australia. "Coleen’s reactive arthritis being triggered by stress means execs want to wrap her in cotton wool and keep her happy and healthy... The condition is currently under control so at this stage it’s a 'could be' ruled out rather than a 'will be'," they said.
