The McFly singer and guitarist, 38, is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his friends – bandmate Dougie Poynter and Giovanna Fletcher, the wife of Tom Fletcher – who won the show in 2011 and 2020 respectively.

But his wife, Georgia Jones, has admitted to struggling while her husband is in the Australian jungle, recently uploading a video of herself crying as she opened up on the struggles of missing Danny on top of organising a house move, working and solo parenting.

She said, ‘I’m just having a bit of a wobble and I’m just a bit tired and just making sure I’m looking after everyone and keeping everybody happy.’

Danny shared the story of how he met Georgia during his time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

The pair met at a Miss London event in 2008 as Georgia was the reigning Miss England, which she won in 2007. And while it was love at first sight for Danny, Georgia wasn’t as sure.

He told his fellow campmates, ‘It took me a year to get her, because I invited her out for a roast. We were in a club and we couldn’t talk. I said, “I just wanna be in a pub with you,” and she was like, “Yeah”.

‘I was like, “Do you want to go to the pub tomorrow?” She said yeah. I text her in the morning and she said, “Sorry, I can’t make it.”

‘Weeks went on and weeks went on and she didn’t make it, turned me down. I gave up in the end, then about 11 months later, she text me saying, “Do you want to go out for a drink or get breakfast?” I was like, yes!

‘So I picked her up, took her to The Waffle House in St Albans, but that was about 11, 12 months later.’
