An oven hob stained with marks can be frustrating to see, especially when you've been trying to scrub it off.

Whenever water has bubbled over my pots in the past, the water or sauce has quickly left its mark on my oven hob.
While a good wipe will eradicate the sauce's colour, another type of residue tends to build up over time.
Looking at my hob, you would think it needs a good clean; but it's been wiped more than once a day.
Fed up with these stains ruining the appearance of my oven hob, and the remarks made to me in disdain by my mother, I decided it was time to try something different.
In the past, I've used kitchen cleaning sprays and Dettol wipes and scrubbed it with a microfibre cloth.

But there was one tool I hadn't used yet, but was interested in trying out.
I got an oven hob scraper for less than £6 on Amazon; it's the Minky Homecare Hob and Oven Scraper.
While my first attempt to expose the blade inside the tool was more complex than it should have been, I quickly figured it out.
There's a circular button that needs to be pressed on and down in order to expose the blade.

It's not perfect, but it's much better than it was! (Image: Express)
Very gently, I scraped along the oven hob, delighting to see that the marks were lifting and my hob wasn't being scratched.
Spending a few minutes scraping along the hob, which I found rather therapeutic, led to a better result than I expected.
While the magic tool has most definitely helped to remove the worst of the stains, it will need another round to get the marks off completely.
Whether or not the stains will be completely eradicated is yet to be discovered.
