I have an affinity for health trackers. I use my Oura Ring to analyze my sleep patterns. My trusted Apple Watch reports all my steps and workouts. And my Lumen device monitors my metabolism in tandem with my weight loss goals. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the collective data, weekly statistics, and recovery metrics that inform and impact my total health.
So of course, when new devices pop up on the scene, I am always eager to test them. Enter: RingConn Gen 2 ($299). Released in August 2024, the small but mighty fitness ring is waterproof, super slim, and has expert-level biometric tracking. After wearing the ring for three weeks now, I've been impressed with how accurate the stats have been, and more so, how quickly and seamlessly the product fit into my arsenal of trackers. Ahead, read all about my experience with the thinnest smart ring on the market.

What I Like About the RingConn Gen 2 Smart Ring
I'm a big fan of how thin the RingConn Gen 2 feels. I actually wore it for two days without realizing I hadn't even set it up yet. The weight is comparable to the rest of my jewelry, such as the four to five rings I stack on daily, seamlessly integrating with my lifestyle and aesthetic choices. This is something I haven't experienced with other smart rings I've tried, which are so bulky that I end up adjusting them a couple times a month.
According to RingConn, over one billion people worldwide suffer from sleep apnea, a sleep disorder that causes people to stop breathing while sleeping. RingConn is the only smart ring out there that is tackling this problem head-on. Inside the app, you'll find technology including Apnea-Hypopnea Index, Oxygen Desaturation Index, and SpO2, all of which work to dissect sleep apnea tendencies. I have been happy to discover that I don't have sleep apnea and am comforted in knowing that if the issue arises, RingConn will alert me and I can work to correct it.
How to Use the RingConn Gen 2 Smart Ring
Like most smart rings, step one starts with a free ring sizing kit. The brand sends these within three to eight days to ensure an accurate fit. Once the actual ring is delivered, setup is fairly simple. First, download the RingConn app and make an account. Next, place the ring in the charging case. Once the blue light shines, the ring is officially activated. Lastly, open the RingConn app and pair the device.
What to Consider Before Trying the RingConn Gen 2 Smart Ring
In my three weeks of testing, the step count isn't as accurate as my other tracking devices — I find it's often off by a couple hundred steps. While it might not be the best for step counting, it has incredible sleep technology which will better your total health in the long run.
