We've been reviewing Victoria Beckham's contour stick

If you've ever fancied having cheekbones as sharp as Posh Spice, then you're in luck. The former Spice Girl's beauty brand has a product that promises to do just that – and I've been putting it through its paces.

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Contour Stylus is a slim, creamy crayon available in four shades, designed to precisely shape and sculpt the face – no thick, muddy streaks like contouring techniques of the past. It retails at £35 and can be purchased from Selfridges or the Victoria Beckham Beauty website.

I'm not exactly a pro when it comes to make-up and I definitely lean towards a natural look over a heavy 'Instagram' style, so contouring isn't something I often attempt. However, I'm always on the hunt for a sharper looking jawline and cheekbones – and I've loved every product I've tried from Victoria Beckham Beauty – so I was eager to give this luxe-looking crayon a whirl.

I opted for Travertine, the lightest shade out of the four, and was immediately taken with how creamy the stick was – it melted into the skin like butter – and it was a good shade: neither too warm nor too grey.

After applying my foundation and concealer, I drew lines on my face where the VB website instructed me to: under my cheekbones, along my jawline and down the sides and tip of my nose. I then blended these in well (using my foundation brush for the cheeks and my fingers down my nose), reports OK!.

I was genuinely taken aback by the results. It was a subtle change, but my face appeared more refined, without any obvious streaks or grey shadows.

Besides the usual three spots for contouring, I used the VB Contour Stylus on two other areas of my face that I believe had an even greater impact. I drew a bit under my bottom lip and on my Cupid's bow, which instantly gave my lips a fuller look – a trick favoured by celebrity make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic, Jennifer Lopez, and Mrs Beckham herself.

I also applied it into my eye socket line and beneath my lower lashes; as someone who rarely bothers with eyeshadow, this provided my eyes with a hint of definition. It made my face appear more defined overall, almost as if I'd applied an Instagram filter over it – and since it also serves as a lip liner and eyeshadow, it quickly became the most versatile item in my make-up bag.

If you're on the hunt for more foolproof contouring products, I highly recommend Milk Makeup Sculpt Stick, £22, and Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Skinstick, £25.
