What I Like About the Proclaim Custom-Jet Oral Health System

In just seven seconds, the fluid rushes through 60 jets to target every angle of my mouth. The fun part is seeing all the bacteria, plaque, and food particles travel down the funnel into the sink. Having tested the product for two weeks, I barely realize I'm flossing because it's over as quickly as it started. In fact, it takes longer to fill the water reservoir than it does to actually floss.

Not only is it a quick process, but the results are impressive. In just two weeks, my gums have become less sensitive (they used to bleed a few times a month) and the stubborn plaque on my two bottom teeth has completely vanished — something my electric flosser could never eliminate.

How to Use the Proclaim Custom-Jet Oral Health System

At first glance, you might be overwhelmed by the setup below, but trust me, it's easy and will take you less than 10 minutes.

Step 1: Plug in the device and fill up the reservoir with warm water.
Step 2: Set the pressure dial to level one (it has up to five levels).
Step 3: Remove the handle cap and point handle down in the sink. Press the button to let out all the warm water.
Step 4: Fill the reservoir with warm water and add in 20 ml of Proclaim Oral Infusion.
Step 5: Attach the mouthpiece to the handle and turn clockwise until it clicks into place.
Step 6: Place the mouthpiece in your mouth and seal your lips around it.
Step 7: Lean over the sink and press and hold the button for the seven-second treatment.

After your device is set up, follow steps four through seven only. Be sure to rinse out the reservoir and mouthpiece in-between uses and clean the mouthpiece every month with white vinegar (you'll receive detailed care instructions in an email from customer service).

The scanning appointment takes approximately 20 minutes (mine was about 10) and is included in the price of your Proclaim. All you do is enter in your zip code and select from a list of providers in your area.

My only qualms are the size of the device and the price tag. At 10 inches high and five inches wide, it might be overwhelming for smaller bathrooms with limited storage space, and it can't travel with you (something I appreciate about handheld electric flossers). As for the steep price tag, however, Proclaim offers a payment plan and you can enjoy all the benefits for as little as $34 a month. Plus, the mouthpiece lasts for five years (with a one-year warranty), so you won't have to worry about renewing or purchasing a new device annually.
