I’VE heard of some idiotic things over the years but this may take the crown.
West End tourists are apparently walking out of hit musical Wicked at the interval so they do not spoil the second instalment of the movie adaptation starring Ariana Grande as Glinda.
Sources tell Bizarre that staff at the Apollo Victoria Theatre are growing increasingly tired of guests not appreciating the production and actors.
And takings are down at the interval bar.
A source said: “It’s ridiculous and causing a lot of eye rolls among staff.
"Loads of fans are leaving at half-time so as not to spoil the next film.
“It’s totally unfair and, to be honest, rude to the actors who are working so hard to put on such an epic production.”
Wicked: Part One was released in November and has received ten Oscar nominations.
Part Two, titled Wicked: For Good, will be released this November and is an adaptation of the second half of the stage show.
OJ’S £3K FIX FOR PET DOG
IT’S not just top footballers who suffer from cruciate ligament injuries.
Radio 2’s OJ Borg has revealed his beloved rescue dog Lebowski suffered the same knee injury, leaving the DJ with no choice but to fork out thousands to get it repaired.
Wicked fans furious after Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo's Mattel doll promos leak crucial movie plot
OJ said: “He had an ACL, so the vets had to make sure he could walk again. They did a great job and now he is fine. I paid £3,000. I only paid £60 to get him to start with.”
Since adopting Lebowski, OJ has taken him everywhere – and even had him as an usher at his wedding.
He said: “Lebowski and I have been through some stuff together and he’s always been there to fall asleep, and only wake up to bark at me for cheese.
“He sussed early on he’s the most important part of the family and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I know it’s not always possible but if you can, adopting a dog is like usual dog ownership but makes you feel a million times more love for them as you know you’ve given a home to a best friend that didn’t have one.”
I’m right with you, OJ.
THE KOOKS KNOW LOLA
THE KOOKS were in good company at the launch of their new album Never/Know – with Queen drummer Roger Taylor’s daughter Lola joining them.
She teamed up with Luke Pritchard and his bandmate Hugh Harris for their song Jeanie last year, with Lola appearing in the video.
This exclusive snap shows Luke and Lola backstage at the party in Notting Hill.
Luke said: “We were so lucky to be joined by our friends, who we’ve known for years, at our launch party and also by new friends.
“Lola came down and supported us. She’s an incredible musician, so to have her seal of approval was an honour. We hung out backstage talking about all sorts. She’s got a great eye for cool s**t and a good collection of vintage boots.”
CHRISTMAS: I’M SNOWED
BRITAIN’S Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas has only just finished her debut panto run – and now she’s preparing to head out on tour.
She will kick off the shows on Sunday in Glasgow before performances across the UK until wrapping up in Birmingham on February 24.
Sydnie told HATC magazine: “It’s still hard to believe people want to see me, that they’re actually interested in me. It feels surreal. After all this time of nothing really happening, for it to suddenly take off now feels like, ‘You’re lying to me.’ But I’m excited – nervous, too.”
Since winning BGT last summer, Sydnie has been going non-stop, even inviting Bizarre out to LA in November after being booked to play the legendary Hollywood Bowl.
Sydnie admits she is still learning to take time out, adding: “I’m trying to be kinder to myself, though I’ll admit I’m not great at it yet. Self-care doesn’t come naturally to me, but I know I need it to keep going. It’s a work in progress.”
ROSIE IS SPOT ON
ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY is spotted enjoying a night out on the town.
The model appeared to be channelling Nineties Kate Moss in a faux fur leopard skin coat and shiny knee-high boots.
Looking catwalk ready, glam Rosie also wore a sheer black top paired with a pencil skirt.
During the evening, she headed to North London celebrity haunt Chiltern Firehouse for dinner.
JADE GIG CLOSE TO HER ART
JADE THIRLWALL is having a bumper 2025 so far.
Fresh from getting two Brit nominations and being announced as a performer, I can reveal she has another gig around the corner.
The former Little Mix singer will perform at London’s V&A Museum next week. She has been lined up as a guest at the unveiling of two Andy Warhol paintings there.
Her solo shows are known for their artistic vision so I can’t wait to see what she’s got planned.
Voting is now open in the five public Brit Awards categories, including Best Pop, where Jade is nominated, along with Alternative/Rock Act, Dance Act, Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act and R&B Act.
You can vote using the official Brits WhatsApp channel, linked in their social media pages.
CLEAN BANDIT will be supported by Jess Glynne and Wes Nelson for their one-off Brits Week gig on February 28.
Brits Week 25, delivered by DHL for War Child, will also see Ben Brown supporting Frank Turner and Essence Martins opening for Cat Burns in the shows.
Most have sold out but you can still enter the prize draw to win a pair of tickets at brits weekwarchild.co.uk.
CRAIG SO IN TENTS FOR SCOTT
SCOTT MILLS is back supporting Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day – and he told me the toughest challenge he has taken on for the charity in the past was trekking 100km across Kenya in 2011.
But it wasn’t the scorching heat, painful blisters or endless thirst that made it so tough . . .
The Radio 2 breakfast show host, above, who was with Lorraine Kelly, Olly Murs, Dermot O'Leary and Craig David, said: “I’ll always remember waking up every morning to the sound of Craig in the tent next to me singing his own songs, every day.”
At least the challenge only lasted for Seven Days, eh, Scott?
Red Nose Day returns on March 21. We’ll have our noses on.
The week in bizness
MONDAY: Neighbours fans are in for a treat as a 40th anniversary celebration tour kicks off in Birmingham. Stars including Kym Valentine, who played Libby Kennedy, will take to the stage.
TUESDAY: The nationwide tour of West End musical Kinky Boots begins at Manchester’s Palace Theatre, featuring my favourite Strictly dancer, Johannes Radebe. The show runs until Saturday before moving to Glasgow.
THURSDAY: Prepare for drama as the sixth series of The Kardashians begins streaming on Disney+, which I’m sure will include plenty more rows between Kim and Kourtney Kardashian.
SUNDAY: The Super Bowl takes place in New Orleans between Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Taylor Swift is due to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs player Travis Kelce, ahead of a half-time show from Kendrick Lamar.
