Corrie: Nick finds out bad news about Toyah's operation

Coronation Streets Leanne Battersby, played by Jane Danson, is caught in a web of deceit after attempting to stitch up her sister Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). The bistro boss was seething with rage upon discovering Toyah was secretly meeting her partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) behind her back.

In a dodgy move to land her sibling in hot water for fraud, crafty Leanne knocked together a bank account posing as Toyah and started funnelling unapproved cash from the Bistro business into it.

When Toyah got arrested for theft and fraud suspicions, she was clueless on who could've cracked a bank account with such insider info on her.

The penny dropped for Toyah later when she twigged that Leanne might be behind the scheme after DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) let slip that the password for the account was 'Rose2001'.

Despite batting her eyelids and playing the innocence card to Nick, Leanne was absolutely seething that he was wobbling over who to trust. Eventually, Nick stood by his woman and vowed Toyah she wasn't welcome back home, reports Lancs Live.

However, it turns out Nick and Toyah are still thick as thieves as the pair are cooking up a plot for payback. Nick swore: "We've got to make sure she doesn't get away with this. Play her at her own game." Toyah agreed, commenting: "I wish it hadn't come to this, but this is war."

While unlucky-in-love Leanne treads through soapy heartache, her real-life is a far cry from the drama on the cobbles.

Away from the ITV soap, actress Jane Danson has been married to her husband for almost two decades. She's wedded to soap star heartthrob Robert Beck a staple face in the telly world with an enviable CV featuring stints on Brookside, Emmerdale and Waterloo Road.

Robert swung into the cobbles of Coronation Street in 2008 and hit the Hollyoaks village as Fergus Collins on Channel 4 recently. Not forgetting his sneaky turn on Emmerdale last year as baddie Damon 'Harry' Harris.

It wasn't Robert's first time on Emmerdale as he once graced over 70 episodes back in the nineties. Cast as Gavin Ferris, he stirred the pot when he snogged Jason Kirk (played by James Slark), despite popping the question to Bernice Blackstock (the legendary Samantha Giles).

Although it seems as though Jane owes Emmerdale for meeting her husband as the pair first met at the British Soap Awards in the late 90s, however, Jane admits she'd had the hots for Robert since she was 15.

Cue years of chummy banter before things sparked into full-blown love, leading them to tie the knot in 2005. The duo then embraced parenthood with their boy Harry making an entrance in 2006, and Sam joining the crew in 2009.

In an intimate chat with OK! Magazine, Jane revealed the secret to her 22-year marriage with Robert, commenting: "Me and my husband have been together for 22 years, and we're really good friends as well as loving each other lots."

Despite their tight-knit relationship, Jane has bravely shared the couple's journey through sorrow, including a miscarriage that left them reeling. The pair were devastated when they lost their third child at the three-month scan.

Pouring out her heart in a 2018 interview, Jane confessed: "It was heartbreaking and it took us a long time to get over it I don't think you ever do. There will always be that sadness there and there'll always be that desire, but we're getting older now and the boys are growing up. Sometimes you just have to appreciate what you have."

During Baby Loss Awareness Week in October 2022, Jane took to Instagram to share her anguish: "The pain of having a 'missed miscarriage' will stay with me forever. My three months scan showed there was no heartbeat yet my body continued to be pregnant for some time. It was devastating."

She admitted to bottling up her feelings initially, which only intensified her grief: "The worst thing that I did was not talk about what I was going through and somehow it made the heartache even more painful. In time I learnt to talk and express just how broken I felt. With the love of my husband @robertbeck529 and support from my friends and family I began to heal. Sending love to anyone suffering."

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
